Thread: WOW's PR team

    WOW's PR team

WOW's forums are crazy. First came Daily threads, then crz, then ganking, now they are getting thread after thread of well thought out quitting letters. I can barely read them before WOW's team deletes them.

    Post happens

    Most agree

Some disagree and defend dailies, although no one really mentioned them

    Others agree

    Then blizz deletes.

DO they delete much on MMo-Champion?

    Their forums, their rules.

We don't delete threads often, but we definitely lock them if they're out of control, pointless, or against our rules. We also do lock any "I Quit" threads, as they're not allowed here either.

I spend a lot of time on the official WoW forums even though I'm banned and I will say most people do not agree with the complainers. Please don't come here trying to give bad credit to the blues.

It's sad that they delete "I quit" threads. I like to bookmark them for later mockery, when the person has not, in fact, quit.

Easy Tiger, just asking a question. I too agree with the Blues most of the time. I also like reading genuine feedback. I have noticed some of the posts I like reading have been disappearing. I am just wondering if there is another site i can read comments and not have them disappear when I click to the next page.

No, there is no other site that doesn't do that.

You can check out the Internet Wayback Machine. It's possible some of the forum data has been archived there; I've found old copies of MMO Champion complete with the original page data from years ago.

Sadly you can't go back far enough back that the MMO-C mascot reappears.

First, let me just say even if most people post in a thread titled "X feature sucks!" agreeing with the OP, X feature does not necessarily suck.

    Secondly, it's their rules.

Third, the WoW forums are just a cesspool anyway. If you want anything resembling discussion, this is your better bet. We even have some devs that lurk here.

The Forums of World of Warcraft are a joke. I can prove it with a series of screenshots I've taken over disciplinary actions. I wrote some ideas a while back on how CRZ could be improved. They banned me from the forums twice for "Other". Not spamming and not trolling. The Ban reason stated and I quote:

"Topics that have a inordinate amount of posts may be deleted as there are other larger threads that can be used."

The core problem with this claim is that there are not.

This is in part because I have learned a couple of the people who troll the pages are in fact moderators over at Blizzard Entertainment. Every thread except a few has been deleted. Fortunately I had the foresight to save all of the pages of feedback. Every time the CRZ threads reaches five pages long they gets locked now. Rygarius is the cause of it, as well as the reason for the down-voting. I found this out from a good friend who actually is a former employee.

He has been instructed to deal with the threads relating to CRZ and Highly Rate all Pro CRZ Posts, and Bury all posts against it in the slightest. If possible accrue penalty points on posters to prevent them from posting, and enable a excuse for his bosses when they ask why they are deleted. As a result, every thread dealing with CRZ has been locked and many get disciplined for posting continuation threads, something that is widespread and has been accepted in the past on the forums. The difference now is merely the thing we dislike is a feature that blizzard would prefer to be tyrannical about. Try to point out the bullshit and they in turn ban you for discussing moderation, even though it is really not moderation as much as it is trying to silence discontent.

This will cost them in the end as Blizzard becomes Lucasarts and Mythic 2.0.

Don't buy it? Check this bevy of links out. All dealt with trying to improve the bad abortion of game design that is CRZ. This is Blizzard's commitment to "quality".

Yes it is that long. Check 15* (16 was apparently CRZ Feedback 19 which got the poster banned) out though and then rethink:

"Topics that have a inordinate amount of posts may be deleted as there are other larger threads that can be used."

I call Bullshit and that is what it is. This above all other reasons is why I now post here instead of the Warcraft Forums. The Moderators of WoW's forums need to be held more accountable. The MMO-Champion Mods? Far, far more reasonable and less in love with their own power.
