    Processor

Someone on the tera website linked me this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819117285 processor saying this: "After looking at your Mobo may I make a suggestion. Drop The 3570K And Get A Xeon 1240v2 its basically a I7 3770 without the video core and runs cooler to im playing Tera on one at 80+ FPS.. and its not much that a 3570k." So compared to a i5 3570k which is better for gaming?

Why would you do that? You are throwing away the ability to overclock for a CPU which costs more, has hyperthreading and an extra 2MB of L3 cache, and probably wouldn't even help increase the framerate.

Well the Xeon E3-1240 V2 lacks not only on board gfx but it lacks the ability to overclock if you choose to. That aside there would be next to no difference between the 2 in gaming I don't think
And yea it costs more for the Xeon with less features :/ No brainer really

    you can't overclock it

    it doesn't run cooler

there is no benefit in gaming to getting a Xeon over a i5/i7, and in 99.9% of cases, the i5/i7 is vastly better

that just makes no sense at all, i am however suprised that the xeon is not that much more expensive.
however gaming + overclocking is currently a winner combo nothing new on the horizon that will change that any time soon either.

even though your current rig is old piece of junk the psu/optical drive/ram/hdd(s) can still be reused if decent.

If you are willing to spend $250, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= is the better choice.

I know it already got settled but..

    -More Expensive
    -Doesn't overclock
    -Same thermal design

Basically, the guy you talked to screwed himself over, and apparently wants to pass on the misery? I assume you got one of the builds with the Z77... Why on earth would someone advise you, based off an OC board, to get a non-OC CPU that's pretty much the same performance, but worse... When you already have the same thing? Waste of money. >.<

But yes, if you're looking at the 230-250 range.. The 7870 XT's are difficult to beat right now. They're at a particularly sweet performance/price spot right now.
