    *State of the Union Address*

Didn't see a thread for this yet, so decided to make one.

Here's the link for the high quality stream from whitehouse.gov

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/state-of-the-union-2013

Should be starting soon, within the next 7 minutes or so (at 8 pm CST), just preparing until then.

Edit: Just starting now, they're starting to call names.

I am so very much not busy right now, I may as well actually watch it.

Herman Cain said expect a victim parade today, think it will hold true.

Well, Obama just entered the chamber, hopefully the speech will get started soon.

Also, enough with the damned clapping.

Absolutely no interest. I have zero desire to see this clown repeat the same things he's been saying the last 5 years. I know what he's going to say before he's going to say it. The only difference is what particular little rhetorical flouishes he uses. Yawn.

"I've reduced the debt by 4 trillion dollars..." (0.5% truth as it is all just budget smooshing with no real debt reduction)
"I've created 6 million jobs..." (0.5% truth since 8 million jobs have ceased to exist)
"I've won the war in Afghanistan/Iraq and I'm bringing the troops home..." (a half-truth)
"I've created peace in the Middle East and our enemies abroad are isolated..." (0.5% truth as there's no peace, our embassies are under attack, and Iran/N. Korea are nuking up)
"My Obamacare program has insured millions more Americans..." (0.5% truth as no more people are 'insured' yet, but everyone's taxes sure went up to pay for nothing happening)

Toss in a few jabs at Congress being 'do nothing', a few plaintive "the mess we inherited from the previous administration" excuses, and you've got his speech pretty much right here.

Oh - well - he may have a few new horrors to burden everyone with like his idiotic 'gun control' power grabs, and his illegal amnesty plan. I don't count whatever crap he says about making energy more expensive because he's been saying that for years.

This is all I saw. Still trying to figure out what the heck a 0.5% truth is and how you came to that conclusion.

Maybe I'll have to take a glimpse at the footage. Nothing else to do.

Has he ever delivered on anything he has promised? Besides obamacare. Which made millions of people lose their full time jobs and are put on part time so the company doesn't have to pay for their health insurance? Did anybody really want that besides poor black people and illegals?

You do realize ObamaCare was a copy of RomneyCare, essentially, right?

It's also based on the Republican plan that was proposed as an alternative to 'Hillarycare'. This year we get to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hillarycare and next year we will celebrate it's failure.

I do agree with his call for a raise of the minimum wage to $9.00/hr.

I'm not prepared to debate the arguments against the minimum wage (arguments that it is economically deleterious), but, "A full time worker earning the minimum wage lives below the poverty line," is a pretty strong argument.

Over a 1000 troops will come home from Afghanistan but that isn't really new.

Minimum wage may go up to $9 on the bright side!
