Well, romance certainly has no place in lovecraft. Though Azeroth possibly does. :P Oh, the puns we could come up with...
But yeah; romance in Warcraft is often shallow, overdone and way too obvious. It's also much too... Much what teens expect romance to be.

Tyrande/Malfurion and Thrall/Aggra seem to be pretty solid, long-lasting, convincing love connections. Plus there are some people who would probably be ok if they have some "lovin" in their lives (i.e. Sylvanas, Garrosh)

Romance in Warcraft is pretty awful and doesn't seem to make sense in a lot of cases.
1. Yeah
2. It's driven by nonsense near as I can tell, little to no rhyme or reason to it.
3. After the "A Little Patience" scenario? Whoa yeah.

Aggra & Thrall seems to be the only real one. I did the questline where she helps save him from his own insanity... was nice of her to do that.

Thrall and Jaina need to bone already and patch things up, Aggra's bitchy and Kalec's clingy. Garrosh needs to get laid sometime this century (it'd mellow him waaaaay the hell out), and Sylvanas just wants to sleep next to someone with a pulse again. Varian's mad cuz he can't get a date now that he's aging and stuck with a kid, and Baine was recently voted most eligible beefsteak on Thunder Bluff. Lor'thremar is only in love with his own reflection, Malfurion and Tyrande are discovering what happens once you tie the knot (10,000 years of romance and suddenly no snu snu), Vol'jin pokes the eyes outta anyone he tries to kiss, and Velen is probably too busy molesting little Dranei altar boys to bother with serious romance.
