Potatoes I guess. I've never heard pasta referred to as a staple. To me potatoes or rice are sides or part of a meal but pasta is the meal. I eat potato the most out of the three, but I much much much prefer sweet potato over potato

Rice very very closely followed by pasta. So close they could be considered conjoined twins.
