10-year anniversary is gonna be big, and the next expansion will most likely be released a handful of months before the date (personally predicting summer 2014, though it's hard to estimate with how little information we have right now).

Heavy Legion hinting in this expansion, especially with Wrathion and this NPC.
Blizzard themselves said that Mists was the "calm before the storm," and they are always planning a few expansions ahead.

I think, though, with an expansion as massive as the Return of the Legion, or what have you, we should entertain the idea of multiple races, and a new class, and other goodies as possibilities. We don't know how whole hog they're going to go with it yet. Honestly, I'd be a bit disappointed if they didn't go really all out on the Legion expansion.
Personally, I think that it is perfect if the Burning Legion returns. I started playing when Wrath launched and I hated the fact that I missed out on some great lore. I have read many of the novels since, and can't see it not being the Burning Legion's return with all we are seeing in-game currently. I like to look at everything in WoW as being connected. For instance, people don't think about it all the time...but without Sargeras and his corruption of other races we would not have Nerzhul, and in turn, there would be no Lich King. I think coming back to the root of most of Azeroth's problems would be a great way to kick off a 10 year anniversary.

On another note, I would love to find out that Kil Jaedan the DECEIVER has in some way, maybe not corporeally as we sent him back to the Twisting Nether(I think?) but in some way. It would just be a cool lead in for a new expansion at the end of the Seige of Orgrimmar patch.

    OT: +1 for community reference

TBC always has been my favorite expansion and it would be unwise for the next expansion to NOT be amount the Burning Legion. Azshara/N'Zoth could be included aswell.

Not gonna lie. I definitely chuckled.

OT: I actually really like this idea and hope they go through with something similar to this. I wouldn't mind an entire revamp of certain zones in Outland though (I'm looking at you Blades Edge).

I'll bet money that the next two expansions will go EXACTLY as follows:

Next Expansion: We'll travel to 3 new worlds via Dark Portals (or 2 new worlds and Outland revamp), one of which will be Argus, where Kill'jaeden lies. Another 5 levels, probably a few new Races. I foresee them wanting to make a big Class-related announcement, as well; either the addition of Fourth-specs across the board, or *POSSIBLY* a new Class that we've never heard of. If the latter, it will be a Mail-wearing Ranged character, so likely either a Dreadlord or a Titan-themed Class, though I suspect we'll be seeing Fourth-specs. The new races will be Ogres for Horde, probably something completely new for Alliance (such as a race from one of the new worlds).

Final Expansion: Another 5 levels, and we'll be traveling to the Titans' homeworld, and possibly another world that is home to Sargeras' prison. We'll probably see a lot of Titan-themes throughout all of the Classes, which each one being tied to a specific member of the Pantheon (save, perhaps, for Death Knights). It is likely we would see Illidan return (he is, after all, half-demon, and demons never die; only get sent to the Twisting Nether), resulting in a Demon Hunter class. The only exception to this would be if they decide to implement a Titan-themed Class in this expansion, as well. I strongly suspect the playable Races here will be Vrykul and Mogu, who are both deeply tied to the Titans. In the case of the Mogu, they'll see a complete revamp to their in-game models (their concept-art depicts then with humanoid legs and much thinner torsos).

    Skin - Color of energy
    Hair Color - Bandages
Hair - Probably got some different bandage patterns or crowns or whatever
Eyes - Color of eyes and angle
Mask - What kind of mask they use to "fit in"?

I mean, come on... why mention Ethereals in that text?

And as for class. It is time for a mail or cloth user. And Demon Hunters I believe use mail. They use warglaives. I think it is very possible a melee/ranged/tank hybrid comes next. We had dps/pet dps/tank, dps/healer/tank and now we'll have melee dps/ranged dps/tank for a change.
The Ethereals were a humanoid, fully physical race in the past. Their homeworld of K'aresh was attacked by the Voidlord Dimensius, who opened rifts all over the planet that flooded it with arcane and shadow energy. One of K'aresh's races was technologically advanced enough to put up force fields to protect their cities from this, but a good portion of the energy got past the shielding and ripped their physical bodies clean off of their souls. These unbound souls were unstable, so they took to wrapping themselves in enchanted strips of cloth to give themselves enough structure to survive. They kept fighting Dimensius on K'aresh while in this form for a while, until he gained the upper hand and forced them to flee into the Twisting Nether.

An ethereal can bind itself into many different shapes, small, big, whatever. They tend to use the shape their race had before they lost their bodies, however. Unbound they look a bit like voidwalkers. Anyway, there are plenty of customization options with them. Glow color, eye color, bandage color, wrapping style (different slits in the bandages in the position of eye/mouth/nose/ear holes), energy tendrils or draped bandages for hair, ornaments hanging on or wrapped in with the bandages.

Demon Hunters use leather, by the way. If that.

I second the notion of giving ethereals masks. Very egyptian funeral. There's only so much you can do with bandages, having a wide variety of masks that are as customizable as faces is much better.

And then Ethereals... would they be awesome? Yes, they would. But Ethereals have no faces, no hair, no skin tone... almost nothing in the way of customizability.

Sure, the "old" models for the Worgen and Goblins didn't have much "diversity," but it was entirely plausible that they could have distinct faces, hairdos, skin tone variation, etc (and this would be true for Ogres.) On the other hand, a major part of the Ethereal's design is that they HAVE no face (or any other real defining body features.) Pretty hard to just kind of "edge that out."
Ok call me crazy, and let me note Im not up to date with wow lore, nor do I claim to be, but I thought the broken ones were Draenei who lost their connection to the light. Which is how shamans come into to play. Some broken use the elements of the earth to fill that void, others just end up decrepit

It was moreso that they were draenei who became corrupted by the demonic energies that the orcs spread throughout Draenor. They suffered from mutation in the same way that orcs became green and then red skinned, or blood elves start growing horns and wings.

Maybe they would have become eredar if they embraced it, but they clearly hate demons, so they just wither away. This somehow interfered with their connection to the Light.

Considering they're based on Arabrians, I could easily see sort of Masque-styled masks being used to show their faces.

We've also seen a lot more use of Ogres at the Dominion Point (Horde) in Pandaria. Ogres who, for the most part seem to be there just because they've been told to be there but, are playing an important role in the Hordes plans to capture Pandaria.

The main issue against Ogres in my view is the clear lack of any major figures within the Ogre Society. Unlike Pandaren who are a totally new race into World of Warcraft, Ogres have been around since day one, and over the last eight years (at least according to my memory) I've yet to met a single Ogre who was worthy of being a leader or prominent advocator for their position in the Horde.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but unlike the Pandaren who've had their stories unlocked over the last few months, Ogres have been present this whole time, and I doubt we'd know so little about them if there was something worth knowing.
Rexxar. He's a half-Ogre and leader of one of their clans.

-Le sigh- Those Ethereals would be so awesome to play. Sure, they'd have to tone down the phasey move effect, or perhaps have it only activate for a racial of theirs, but it'd still be awesome to be an Ethereal. Q_Q

To be honest. What ever burning legion related is 10x better than current chinese style content. I cant fucking stand that chinese style. Now when got game time I find myself only leveling alts and some pvp with my 90, but thats it. Pandaria is so boring.

Have to agree with you. Design wise MoP is great but the whole chinese style just turns me off from playing some of the time.

    So, let's get this straight...

...you want 3 new races, a hero class, an additional spec for every class, so effectively, 11 new specs, plus 10 levels, redone quests for Outland, and a new continent.

Yup, that's not an unrealistic list of demands at all.

I would come back to WoW in a heart beat for another Burning Legion expac. It seems to be what people mostly want, and Blizzard has been leaving hints, clues and bread crumbs leading to it.

Whilst you could've worded differently I have to agree. Pandaria doesn't have the same appeal to me that Outland did. That's partly why I would really look forward to a Legion expansion.
