You're incredibly pessimistic imo. We're already exploring the universe with telescopes and whatnot. We've already explored quite a bit of the solar system, and eventually we'll explore outside of it. Who lives for 100 years? Quite a few people have passed that number already, and scientists say the person who is going to become 200 has already been born.

We would destroy ourselves before we have the technology to get out? I don't think so, technology is improving exponentially. Do you even know what that means?
It means we invent new things faster and faster. What we discover this year will pale in comparison to what we discover the year after that.

No, I don't think we'll destroy ourselves that easily. The world hasn't been this stable in... forever. Europe for example has never been this peaceful in a long time. In that sense, I can kind of agree with the nobel prize to the EU for peace and stability.

And finally, the very fact that you can be this pessimistic about our future is only a good thing from the right perspective. It means that you care for the human race and not just your nationality. Globalization has that kind of effect. It's only a good thing because it means you care about humanity's future. Thoughts like these weren't very common before.

No, I think everything will be just fine. Improvements are going the right way. As long as we don't start a WWIII we're all good. And even if that happens, I think we would survive and rebuild, and we'd have even more of a reason to try to live together.

just think of it like this.
We are like an ant colony in one country.
Do you think the ants in brazil are going to ever meet the ants in asia?
Do you think they even know each other exists?

Clearly you are still stuck somewhere in the 60s. Get up to date.

Of course not, they don't even have self awareness.

Size is relative.. and doesn't really matter anyway. Grab a microscope and you'll soon discover that you are as big as a planet:P Billions of cells, each consisting of millions of atoms and we haven't even discovered what the atoms contain.. or more accurately what the subatomic particles contain. Each could be an entire universe.

But even when going along with your claim, yea, the universe is big and our little solar system is small compared to it.. but we are also the only intelligent species till proven otherwise and we have forever to explore it unless we mess it up. And since the universe is not infinite (at least the one created by the big bang), when forever meets finite, then yes, we will explore it all
