Ascendance Reset

I couldn't find it anywhere but has it ever been stated why Ascendance doesn't reset on wipes or challenge mode resets like other 3 minute CDs? Was talking with my Monk friend the other night and he mentioned his big CD Invoke Xuen resets with everything. Anyone have any clue? Thanks!

3 minute cooldowns dont reset. Only 5+ min cooldowns reset.
