Is khadgar Medivh, or anything near that?

Everything about him is exactly like we saw medivh in Warcraft 3.
Is he suppost to be medivh or is he the same kinda 'wizard' as medivh?
Like the feature trailer, the beginning reminds you like warcraft 3 medivh appearance.
    Especially throne room ending

Khadgar was Medivh's apprentice, and as we saw in The Last Guardian, spent a LOT of time learning his secrets, so I'm not surprised he was entrusted with Atiesh and Karazhan, and has adopted some of his former mentor's quirks. The thing with the throne room was more a shout-out to Warcraft 3 than meaningful lore symbolism.

He's the new Guardian. He acts like the man he learned everything from.

Medivh is dead. He played his role in Warcraft 3, he redeemed himself, he's gone.

He was killed by Khadgar, Lothar, Garona, and some footmen in The Last Guardian, which is an adaptation of the mission in Warcraft 1 where you took Lothar and some footmen to kill him. After Warcraft 3, he didn't so much die as he just... moved on. His shade lingered in Karazhan, but for all intents and purposes, Medivh realized at the end of Warcraft 3 that we no longer need a Guardian, and thus he no longer resides in our world.

Wait what, why would his apprentice kill him?

They're using him as a way to bring a Medivh-like character into the wrap. While he's not literally Medivh (or at least I don't think so, though there are theories for that), it's all a part of the grand plan of feeding on players' nostalgia.

Khadgar is the one person I would expect to remind us of Medivh the most. Since he was his apprentice & all.

Medivh was possessed by the essence of Sargeras. Long story short--hundreds of years ago Aegwynn, Medivh's mother and the previous Guardian, got into a MASSIVE battle with Sargeras's avatar and exhausted herself stopping him. His plan was to linger inside her and possess her child, so he could use the power of a Guardian to open the gate for another Legion invasion. Hence why you see Medivh helping power the Dark Portal in Black Morass. So Khadgar learns about this and he and Garona (who was studying with Medivh as his contact with the Horde) went to Lothar to stop him. That's how Khadgar became so old so quickly--Medivh aged him with a life-draining spell, though the effects were beginning to reverse themselves by the end of Beyond the Dark Portal.

    Medivh never met Sargeras.

Medihv is gone, Khadgar has taken up his Master's mantle and is watching over Karazhan.

If we are going to see anything of Medivh in Legion, I should think it would have something to do with some kind of recording or secret in Karazhan that he left behind. Eg: There is inevitably a lot of ground still left undiscovered in Kara, so we find a new area and a 'recording' of Medivh explaining something.

Don't forget it was also Sargeras' plan to lose on purpose.
