Demon Hunters


Solving some problems with Demon Hunters

1. Demon Hunters don’t wear armor.
A. See the Deconstruction section.

2. Only elves can be Demon Hunters.
A. I agree, which is why this class is limited to only 2 races; Blood Elves and Night Elves.

3. Metamorphosis and Immolation are Warlock abilities.
A. True, but the Demon Hunter version of Metamorphosis and Immolation are very different than the Warlock versions.

4. Demon Hunters are too powerful to start at level one.
A. Agreed, which is why they should be a hero class and start at level 55. This will also set them up to enter the Burning Crusade right out of their training zone.

5. Demon Hunters are just like Warlocks.
A. Demon Hunters are to Warlocks as Paladins are to Priests. They use the same magic type, but fulfill very different purposes.

6. Warglaives are rare weapons!
A. Demon Hunters would have their own training grounds and exclusive equipment similar to Monks in Mists of Pandaria.

7. Why no Diablo 3 version of Demon Hunter?
A. This is Warcraft, not Diablo. Also the majority of players want the WC3 version of the Demon Hunter above all else.

but for a class to exist, they must be unique from existing classes. As stated before, the two examples you posted showcased NPCs with Warlock and Warrior abilities. So what (gameplay-wise) would make this class unique from the current classes in the game? Their demonic aspect is completely owned by Warlocks. Their main source of inspiration, Illidan, is also completely owned by Warlocks. Their weaponry can be utilized by every melee user in the game currently. So what exactly would make this class-concept unique, and what spells/abilities would signify that uniqueness?

Warlocks are not the same as Demon Hunters and this is written on every forum. Dont prejudge classes. Immlation version isnt the same. Methamorphosis version isnt the same. They use agility , dodge enemies etc. Do warlocks have high dodge chance ?! Do warlocks use agility?! Do Warlocks attack the enemy by using weapon magic ?! The answers to these questions are NO, and NO and NO. I could ask you the same : About how Priests are similar to Paladins?! , About how Death Knights are similar to Warlocks?!. Yes they use Fel Magic because they use the Dark(Shadow, Dark , Fel Magic etc) Powers against the legion. They might use this power at any time!!

First off, everyone knows Teriz likes to go back and bullshit, because he'd much prefer his tinker idea. Ever since he thought about tinkers, it's been nothing but tinkers and only tinkers. Kind of like Metzen and Orcs. However, I think his idea for demon hunter is very unique and keeps the spirit of the class, while also making it very different than warlocks. I doesn't matter what he goes back and says to make his tinker idea more appealing. I will never like tinkers and me and all my friends will ALWAYS like this demon hunter idea.

Also, you're just butthurt because nobody likes your ideas. Every time a person that ISN'T you posts a new class idea, you go in to bash and try and 'improve' it. And when people criticize you, you act all offended and shit and look down on them for it. DonQShot busted.

I am all for new ideas and such , but I think world of Warcraft is getting over saturated with classes races etc....
Where some see more as better , I would like to see less wasteful content and more streamline well thought of classes that funcution .
You will never get class balance but most classes have too many abilities or three different rotations etc...

Each class needs to be whitled Down to simple but effective dps, tank and healing.
Not saying dumb them down to the point where it's not fun or boring but a smart rotation /priority setup
Class wise do we need another ranged class ? A demon hunter is the same as a regular hunter as pure dps which so is Mage,Lock,hunter
The only pure melee dps is rogue ranged is already over saturated .

I have no problem in accepting Teriz's concept as being better than mine. What I ultimately want is for the DH class as well any other cool classes to see the light of day in WOW. Not like Teriz.

Because I like a challenge. No one could come up with a satisfactory DH class concept, so I created one that I felt matched the DH concept that people were hoping for.

However its important to note that I still don't believe that Blizzard will ever create a stand-alone DH class.

I think most here know my stance on the DH class in WoW, regardless of what was posted in this thread almost a year ago. However, if it makes you feel better, I can always erase that part of the OP.

b) He states immediately as a part of the thread that it is just a concept he came up with for sake of creating a concept, NOT that he is advocating the idea of a Demon Hunter class

And from this we can say: He used that argument to support the fake concept he made because otherwise he'd be stating in his own concept "Good point, guess I should just stop here and not bother to make a concept." He doesn't have to believe it.

I am really sorry for the necro but I think this thread is still relevant, in the next expansion after Warlords I really do think that Demon Hunters will be a hero class only if the expansion after Warlords is a Burning Legion expansion.
