Small things do matter. It's like not picking up a penny saying it wouldn't be worth it; it shows you the ugly face behind the facade that people try so desperately to keep up.

Whoever rolls need on a green knows very well that by doing so he excludes the majority of other players from having a chance of getting the item, because they either roll greed naturally or can't even need due to armor restrictions - so instead of rolling vs. 24 players it'll probably be vs. 0 to 5. At this point the need roll becomes an act where you increase your chances of winning in a significant way by actively chosing to go against courtesy.

No wonder people get mad at you - it's even worse if the item is of such a low value, because who could tell what you would do if it was actually something of value? Of course such thoughts seem silly, considering that you might not see the people you made fools of ever again; but I know at least one case in which someone was rejected from guild invitation because he demonstrated a massive case of misbehaviour a few weeks earlier in LFR.

It is beyond me how people can deliberately choose to misbehave like that over items of such low value.

Correct, will never see him again, but stop seeing sooner by that much just made the rest of the run that much more pleasant.

Generally you shouldn't need on something you don't need, that I feel is pretty obvious, however I don't personally get upset over it, as the small amount of gold they'll earn from it is no loss to me.

I'd kick him. Take note of his name and server. Look up his guild, take note of every toon that has identical achievement points, and I would constantly rub it in his face that he is a ninja for the following year. Every single time that he is online. At least 10 times per hour.

And if rebutts, one extra year per rebuttal.

I know, I'm too soft on them.

I don´t really care who wins greens. Now lockboxes I need when others need, as those are worth more to me.

I wouldn´t kick someone for needing a green.

Exactly, I never see him again so I have no reason to suffer through LFR with some douchebag ninja. Why not just get rid of him and make the run more pleasent for everyone else while he can wait 30-45 minutes in queue again just how he deserves it?

If you need the green, Whether to sell or even to vendor it you have a perfectly valid reason to need it.

Don't get these crybabies who moan because they don't need the green, but whinge if someone else does.

I need a green if I can sell it, otherwise it's greed. If someone needs, I don't care.

It's not the fact that it's a green item. It's the fact that you feel like you're more deserving than anyone else. It's akin to cutting in line. Everyone is still going to receive service, but that mentality is typically not socially acceptable.

Furthermore, if you choose to partake in that behavior, be prepared for the repercussions.

It's worth a kick more as a deterrence to the gaming community as a whole than as for that individual single item. The alternative is a game where lots of people pull this stunt with impunity all the time.
I agree with this line of thinking for the higher level/end cap too

It does annoy me rather in lowbie dungeons, purely due to it stops others getting upgrades that could help them out whilst levelling, when one person decides his gold intake is more important than the rest of the group. In that case I would ask them politely to stop needing everything, if they continued I would ask again, but 3 time would be a kick. It's not just the items themselves that bother me, it's the attitude of the people that think it's ok to feck someone else over, no matter how small the item in question is.

You need something you don't NEED, you are votekicked in my book. And that's the book of justice, period.

And another ninja throws himself into the fray, hello Mr.Ninja. You and some other guys obviously don't get what the "need" button is for, it is not so you can better your chances at getting stuff you can vendor. The need button was introduced so people could need on items they were actually going to wear and thus "need" said item.
You wanting to vendor something does not equal need and you getting kicked for it is exactly what the kick function is for. And last time I checked this thread was by ninjas for ninjas just to cry how mean all these people are who kick you for being ninjas.

Kicking might be too much, but you should not be rolling need on anything you don't actually need, ever. Chances are, if that person rolled need on a green, he would have no problem rolling need on a blue or epic that someone else actually needed. Of course, if the person keeps on rolling need on everything that can be rolled on, then he deserves to be kicked, but not after a single green.

As far as I'm concerned, I feel that they should just take away the ability to roll need on BoE items. It's a sad thing when you actually have to take away options from people or kick them from a group just to prevent them from being assholes to everyone else.

i dont even pay attention to lockboxes or green items, i click the red circle to get it off my screen. i could care less if anyone needs or greeds on it. i dont read the raid chat, im not interested in LFR drama, i just want to finish the raid asap. it would probably bother me if a tank got kicked for needing on a green item, only because i dont want to sit around and wait for another.

my suggestion is this: leave any expectations of morality or courtesy at the door when you enter an LFR raid. dont read chat, dont pay attention to greens or lockboxes. You'll just end up disappointed or mad. do the fights, move on.

It's simply a principle. It's annoying that some people think that they can take even the tiniest thing.

I don't do LFRs anymore, but when I did, I would tank them. And when I tank them, I chain pull everything cause 1) it's LFR and 2) I'm not interested in spending all damn day in there. Given that VTK requires you to be out of combat for like 60-120 sec to initiate, it just takes WAY too long for it to be worth it. 2 minutes of 25 people's time to VTK one "greedy jerk" is more time than I care about. If you could kick in combat or something, maybe...otherwise, it's 5-10g, who really cares?

The community has already gone to hell, especially so in LFR given that you'll likely never see those people again. You're not going to institute a pay-it-forward type change by kicking someone who needs on greens. More likely, you just slow it down for everyone.

If the green is petty in the first place, why need on it? Just saying. I probably wouldn't kick the person, but it's a douche move.

I seen a epic 476 world drop in a HoF LFR that was taken by someone that could not use it, can happen even if the chance is ridiculously small.

So to summarize: we should support terrible behavior to save a minute of time?

I have about 300k across 3 character, still, I would kick you if you Need on a 20g that I could potentially get.
