Did they redo the voice acting at least?

I kid, I kid. I actually kind of liked X and X-2. Doubt it's worthwhile getting a new console for just those two games with a shinier coat of paint, though. Now if we had a FFIX remake... Or a superexciting FF XV?

And yes, you may sacrifice me to whatever blood god you worship.

I wonder if they will keep the arena and the dark aeons/penance and the sphere grid. I kinda want to catch 10 of all mobs again and grind out max stats

    Brb, buying a PS3.

FFX was one of my favorite games on PS2 and still one of my favorite RPGs. They can keep FFX-2, that game was poop for the most part.

They were good games, but I've still got my PS2 copies and my PS2 is brand new.

Very excited for the HD FFX.

    Couldn't care less about FFX-2.

I actually hope they keep the voice acting for FFX though. Sure, it was terrible, but it was part of the charm. It's how I remember the characters. Change it, and you change those characters I remember and love.

I'm getting it, mostly for X-2. I've been wanting to play both for some time now, and this is a good chance. X-2 though, DRESS SPHERES! Seriously, it's like the perfect game for me.

    All female cast? Check.
    J-pop? Check.
    Fanservice? Check.
    Collect outfits? Check.
    Job system? Check.
CHANGE OUTFITS TO CHANGE JOBS?! FUCKING CHECK.

Final Fantasy X is FAR BETTER than FF X-2. Just saying brosquito. I even liked FFIX more than X-2, and that's saying quite a bit.

I actually kind of liked X-2. That might shock you if you've ever seen any of my rants on FFX.

I wish they would make a new game in the the style of X-2. New world. New characters. Dress spheres. Fancy and fanservicey transformations. Yeah. Get on it Squeenix! Just don't put it on the vita!

Final Fantasy X-2 catches a lot of flak because of what they turned Yuna into and the fact that all the playable characters are females doing girly things. FFX was a better game and has set the bar for the series, but FFX-2 is not nearly as bad as people give it credit for.

I'm not going to bullshit and say the story was amazing, but the gameplay was fine. I just wish they would have made Blitzball more fun instead of taking a shit on it, though.

I actually know a lot of people who consider Final Fantasy IX to be their favorite title in the franchise though lol

But if you've got the money for a PS Vita, go for it. I kind of wanted to get one just for the P4 remake w/ additional content and FFX HD, but it seems like a waste for me to be spending nearly $400 on a handheld game system and a few games right now.

Very, very excited. FF-X was the last final fantasy I really enjoyed and could not stop playing until i beat every aspect of it. I've always loved the summoners of the FF series and this game was based on them. Twelve and thirteen just did not do it for me although 12 was waaaaay better then 13. I at least finished that one, I think my main problem with 12 is that the stat system was just a worse version of tens sphere grid. Thirteen was the first FF game I did not even finish, although I may go back one day as I did enjoy the combat system(that was it though).
The generalist looks outward; he looks for living principles, knowing full well that such principles change, that they develop. It is to the characteristics of change itself that the mentat-generalist must look. There can be no permanent catalogue of such change, no handbook or manual. You must look at it with as few preconceptions as possible, asking yourself, "Now what is this thing doing?" -Children of Dune

Blitzball was one of my favorite aspects in FFX. It was a GREAT side game. The fact that X-2 turned it pretty much automated was a big downer.

I have seen many people saying FFIX was their favorite of the franchise, but honestly I don't get it. I couldn't get into the whole silver long haired thong wearing bad guy to be really evil. Also, the card game in FFVIII was much better than IX's.

Sure, storywise X was better. But I felt X-2 really did everything else better.

Think I might pick 'em up for my PS3.
To declare that a personal, inner experience gives certainty about the workings of the universe is to assign far too much value to one’s subjective sense of conviction.
    I’m not that arrogant.

The brain, marvelous instrument though it is, isn’t infallible. It can misfire, seize or hallucinate, and it can do so in a way that’s utterly indistinguishable from reality to the person experiencing it.

So this excites me. I have been looking for news about this since they announced the X "remake" over a year ago, then back peddled to say it was just a remaster I was hoping they would do the same for X-2. What about VIII and IX? I would die happy if they remaster those as well .

I agree about Blitzball and that was my major complaint about FFX-2. I enjoyed FFX-2 because of the job system, one of my favorite FF systems that is not in enough games.

I wish the'yd give us a date that we can drool over. I'm replaying now and am on 7 so I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to finish 8 and 9 but it'd be nice to know.

Only true because X-2 had to build upon the atrocious foundation set by X.

I cared more for Shuyin and Lenne's struggle for the brief musical sequence we got to see it for than I did for Gackt and Yuna's.

Tragic love to never be fulfilled!

But I'll agree on X-2 being really fun gameplay-wise. I'll admit the whole Charlie's Angels feel to it didn't really click with me, but it was overall quite an enjoyable experience. Never quite understood the hatred it got. Then again, the only Final Fantasy I really disliked was 2, so one could argue my objectivity.

Wait, where is FF-7 HD remake? It deserves remake more than ffx.

It would look like complete shit. The aesthetic of the game doesn't lend itself to high resolution visuals. Unless they overhauled the visual style. In which case they change the entire aesthetic and feel of the game and nostalgic gamers cry, "YOU RUINED MY GREAT MEMORIES OF FF7 YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE!"

I'm guessing HD'ing FF7 up would require far more effort compared to X, X-2 and also recently from Squeenix as well, Kingdom Hearts 1 and KH: Chain of Memories. Guessing they're just doing cheap things currently to keep the money flowing.
