Hey guys! I'm looking for any tips/tricks you might be able to give to help me improve my performance in raids. I main destro and I've recently started to try affliction on protectors (poorly). Tips or either spec will be greatly appreciated. My guild is also progressing on spoils/thok so any warlock specific tips for those fights would be appreciated too.

Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. Im currently a 568 ilvl demo lock looking to improve my DPS. I haven't been able to record my own logs so I have been fortunate that I have been able to get in pugs that record and post public logs.

Previously, I had noticed that my doom and corruption uptime was very low so I have been working to improve uptime's and maintaining buffed corruptions and reapplying doom with nice procs (with the use of aff dots of course.). I have also made improvements to my UI to utilize WA's to show DS:K duration as well as 2-set bonus procs, and LMG and jade spirit activations.

Since I am unable to post logs quite yet, you can find a few recent attempts at 568 ilvl in a recent 25N pug i was in with Grand Illusion -Mal'Ganis US. I had never done 25 man before so it was definitely a slight change for me


If someone could perhaps look over some of these logs and perhaps fill me in on what else I could improve on?


I have had a very difficult time transitioning to destro this tier and decided its much better for me to improve on a spec I enjoy to play rather than try to learn something new. I'd appreciate any advice on ways to improve; thank you in advance!

Hi folks, I was wondering if I could get some help if possible. I recently swapped servers, going from a 10n alt run (as my main) to a 25H progression guild currently working on Siegecrafter. I'm still getting used to the heroic mechanics, and the 25 man changes, but I'm massively lagging behind the other warlocks. It's at the point where it's embarrassing, honestly... That being said, maybe you can see something that I'm not.

I last raided properly in September and winded up taking a longer break than anticipated (was 3/14 HC in SoO at that point) and have recently started raiding again.

I'm feeling like I suck and have lost so much momentum as a result. When I was last playing Affli was all the rage and frankly Destro has never been my favourite spec. I'm thinking that i'm playing too safe when it comes to Chaos Bolting and spamming incin far too much.

Hey, I'll give you my 0.02$. :-)

Firstly, you need the 4-set bonus. It's rather great for ember regen. Also, I see you're playing with Supremacy. This at least does support your notion of playing it safe, but the nature of most fights in SoO does not. I'm not saying it's a bad choice, just that sacrifice has more headroom for optimal play with ember usage.

Secondly I notice you have a lot of int/mastery gems instead of exp/mastery. I assume this stems from the fact you have a lot of inherent hit on your items. As soon as you replace some of these hitbombs, you should concider swapping out int/mast for exp/mast, to allow you to reforge more out of hit into mastery.

I notice you're currently specced into AD. Be aware that AD is an incredibly weak cooldown, and all it gives you is 1 more usage of it compared to not. In the haste/supremacy build, you don't put as much weight into your chaos bolts, meaning your incinerates become more important. In my opinion this should mean that you should reconcider AD vs KJC, due to the latter allowing you more time spent casting Incinerates.

Thanks for the feedback - my armoury is set to soloing stuff (old content etc), i'm actually raiding with KJC instead of AD and using GoSac rather than GoSup.

Good point about the blue gem slots by the way, hit drops seem to love me, have made a good note of that. Agree about tier bonuses too!

AD really isn't all that special for Destruction. Especially compared to how strong it is for Affliction/Demonology.

30% crit is pretty weak, plus incinerate is huge not only for damage but also for building embers.

Recently started raiding in a 25M Heroic guild (First time ever doing 25M) and feel that my dps is a little bit lacking, I feel I can get more dmg out of adds aswell as havocs and shadowburns but thats really all I can think of atm. First of all, not having the immerseous trinket suck for destro. Second, he needs to have very good procs monitoring (WA or TMW addons) for that and time his DarkSoul with their procs. He isn't doing this by checking this log: http://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/...t=11&target=85

That is a massive mistake.

Another one is his shadowburn usage, according to sparkuggz's video you shouldn't be really using it as soon as u get to 20%. He say that you should still try to use Chaos Bolts along with cds, even during burn phase. Only use it if u see you won't be able to get a CB off before a good proc runs out etc.. Check his lastest video, it has some very good tips on how to play destro properly. I think its called "destro workshop 1" or something like that.

Another thing i noticed, he was using the wrong lvl 90 talent (IMO) for a fight like that (Iron Jug). Theres way too much movement in that fight that completely makes KJC a better choice for this fight (IMO).

Cool. Now that I've been playing more on my lock I see how KJC is very good for some fights, specially ones that you are still kinda getting used to positioning.

Instead of soul link, you can run dark bargain, to solo soak an aim.
or sac pact + Go Sac, if your part of a group to help people soak aims.

Thats all i saw i didn't get a chance to watch both, and only partially one of them, i'll update it later when i get the chance.

Apart from that, a few things, especially during the korvon burn noticed you were burning your CB's early without any proc's and ignoring the 4p proc's, minor thing,
At the start of the fight, save your DS till after your 2x conflag

after the first set of orbs we go in one by one im number 10 on the list. i also do have the 4 piece for destro.

Honestly looking at your raid's damage on them your doing fine, infact pretty middle of the pack.
If your guild is having problems on them not dying fast enough, thats your entire raid, and not just you

Most of the time they don't live for more than 6-7 gcd's

so if they're dying like that, then you wont have a problem.

For minor tips as affliction, Run dots on boss, full single target rotation, and just SS dots to adds.
anything more than that, if they're up for longer than a UA duration, i'd be having words with your guild members
Who are getting cleansed, and tunneling boss.
even after cleansing, Adds > Boss. Aff cleansed dots on boss onto adds, is more than enough. If not, and somehow your other raiders aren't able to to increase they're damage, then Perhaps your guild should be trying other bosses before nuroshen.
(Oh and you beating atleast 1 of the other warlocks on those adds, consistently who have 5-6ilevels on you
