    Storm Legion 2.2 Hotfixes

As with any major updates, some issues can come along and spoil the party, but as usual, Trion are on top of things and have shoved out the first hotfix for 2.2 Carnival of the Ascended

    RIFT 2.2 Hotfix #1 - 10:30am PST 2/28/13 [NA] - 2:00am GMT 1/3/13 [EU]

    GENERAL

    * The Carnival of the Ascended event will kick off at 3:30pm server time (PST or GMT, depending on region) Thursday, 2/28/13!
    * The new Torvan Hunter cape appearances are now visible!
    * Whetstones and Oilstones apply Attack Power properly again.
    * Hotkeys should no longer disappear when using /reloadui.
    * Filtering buffs and debuffs from others should be filtering properly now.
    * Corrected the text on the Mug of Tempest Mead item.

    SOULS

    * Chloromancer: Fixed Natural Awareness and Circle of Life not proccing normally.
    * Pyromancer: Wildfire should be proccing normally again.
    * Warlock: Salvage Corruption no longer requires the target to be in front of the caster.

    ZONES

    * The endless loading screen is gone from the end of the A Hero Rises chronicle.
    * Chronicle: River of Souls: The rare loot chest is now on its own loot table rather than duplicating the Hammerknell Chronicle one.
    * Unhallowed Boneforge: All of the Black Revenants from the Forgelord Helix encounter will no longer grant experience or drops.

    FREEMARCH

    * Measure of One's Enemy: Lord Runeclift will once again appear to smite his Defiant foes.
    * Non-Freemarch artifacts will no longer drop from Freemarch sparkles.
    * The three missing Freemarch artifact sets now appear in game again.

    STEPPES OF INFINITY

    * Champions of the Firestorm:
    - Killing Rabrongar will now reward five Infinity Stones.
    - Players now need to capture only one Weapon Component to receive credit for the second phase of the event.

Glad they got the hotkey issue fixed. I did not have a problem last night but several guildies did and it really slowed down our raid last night. The whetstones not working was annoying as well, though not a huge loss as PA ones still worked. Also glad they fixed the Unhallowed Boneforge "exploit". I hope they take back PA XP from anyone who abused it as well, though as quickly as it was fixed I doubt it. I didn't even hear about it until it was too late to use it.

It must be Wednesday, here's hotfix #2

    RIFT 2.2 Hotfix #2 - 7:00am PST 3/6/13 [NA] - 2:00am GMT 7/3/13 [EU]

    GENERAL

    * Increased the amount of Valor available on one and two-handed PvP weapons.
    * Another set of fixes for the UI options 'Show only my Buffs/Debuffs on target and party members' display.
    * Fatigue once again causes damage.
    * Corrected your Dimensions window always showing 0 'likes'.

We've fixed a number of issues related to the "Visiting" functionality that went live with T3 PA. With these changes, visiting other shards is easier and better than ever!
    * The "Join Instance" unit frame menu option now both appears and works for anyone in your group (or group within your raid), not just members from your shard. We'll be fixing how this works with raid members in other groups and the display of names soon!
    * The Summon Group tier 3 PA abilities now work when visiting another shard, and display the name of the party or raid member who summoned you, instead of "????".
    * Planar Lures also now work when visiting another shard.
    * There’s a new slash command, /shard, that displays the name of the shard you are currently visiting.
    * Area lockouts (specifically, for the Volan zone event) and Instant Adventures are not addressed by this hotfix. These are larger issues we hope to address later.

    SOULS

    CHAMPION

    * Shared Suffering: Should now be affected by the Preferred Ally tier 3 Planar Attunement effect.
    * Juggernaut's Bearing: Fixed the tooltip to indicate that Juggernaut's Bearing can stack up to 5 times, not 10.

    PYROMANCER

    * Heat Wave: Will no longer reset the cooldown for the Planar Attunement ability Consuming Flame.

    TEMPEST

    * Wavelength: Should now be affected by the Preferred Ally tier 3 Planar Attunement effect.

    WARLOCK

    * Draining Bolt: Fixed an issue where all ranks below max were doing no damage or healing.

    WARLORD

    * Everything is a Weapon: Should now be affected by the Preferred Ally tier 3 Planar Attunement effect.

    ZONES

    ASHORA

    * The three Carnage quests inside the Biofoundry are now normal Daily quests offered by questgivers.
    * The rewards for the Volan event should now be awarded more consistently to contributing players.

    CAPE JULE

    * Zone Events: The Jewel of Brevane:
    - You will now receive a single buff for all mugs of Tempest Mead you acquire. The ability to drink Mugs of Tempest will not end until you've finished consuming all of your Tempest Mead.
    - The error message letting you know that you don't have barrels of Tempest Mead when you fill the kegs in Tulan has been removed.
    - All participants in the Jewel of Brevane event will now be able to lend a hand in filling the kegs of Tempest Mead.

    FREEMARCH

    * I Feel Better Already: Now properly grants the Planar Lure ability.

    SCARLET GORGE

    * Taking Shards: Reduced the respawn time on shards.

    STEPPES OF INFINITY

    * Zone Event: Champions of the Firestorm: Fixed an issue causing the Planar Rejuvenators to not always be visible during the event.
    * Zone Event: Champions of the Firestorm: Killing the Rageraths during the event will now grant one to two Infinity Stones, in addition to the three given for participating in that stage of the event. [This has some issues with consistently granting stones for Rageraths that are being investigated!]

    DUNGEONS AND RAIDS

    FROZEN TEMPEST [Raid]

    * Kolmsasveli and Toinenveli: Devastating Shock will now put an icon on your character to indicate the DoT effect is on you.
    * Fixed the Field and Stream achievement in the Twins fight.
    * The Speed Clear leaderboard should now be functioning properly.

    GOLEM FOUNDRY

    * Fixed the Shock and Roll achievement being granted incorrectly.

    STORM BREAKER PROTOCOL

    * You should no longer be able to bypass the Plaza section of the Sandstorm Onslaught at the end of the instance.

Looks like the cross-shard "guesting" feature is here to stay

    * Storm Legion notoriety runes that say they work on level 50 items should now work on *all* level 50 items.
    * Artifact sets such as Kira's Tools of the Trade are now all searchable in the Character UI.

I bet the latency on Icewatch is even worse now that everyone is visiting to do Great Hunt rifts, DRRs etc. Trion have jumped on this accidental error because everyone loved it, but it's poorly thought out and poorly implemented.

You'd think so but Volan popped at around midday or so and was smooth as silk, even with half the French and German servers there

Middle of a working/school day, I wonder why

I logged on last week around 5pm in Tempest Bay and there were already micro stutters and noticeable lag just pottering about the capital. You're not seriously going to argue that more players on Icewatch isn't causing more latency.

So now that Scott is gone Gersch got to bring back his BrightPyros from 1.2

    PVP/WARFRONTS

Pyromancer's Fulminate, Cinder Burst, and Inferno no longer have a damage penalty in PvP.
Warlock's Consuming Agony no longer has a damage penalty in PvP.

The 10% PvP reduction is gone. That's hardly even noticeable.

A 10% increase on a 5k hit is......500. Wow, game breaking and super noticeable you get hit for an extra 500 damage. That's not 500 DPS mind you, just 500 on one hit.

Yeah it's concerning that abilities with 30/45 second cooldowns can hit fractionally harder, or that a finishing move that you can only use when a player is pretty much dead already hits for slightly more.

Mages have been suffering in PvP for a long time now, more or less completely at the mercy of rogues and warriors. It's about damned time they boosted mages a bit, especially when the PvP population is so skewed in one classes favor that a Dev comments on it.

From someone who has been pvp'n for close to 5 weeks straight everything said in that thread is bullshit. Warriors are all carring sword and board for a reason because we are getting owned. Give me back lingering wounds, then we can talk. Healing is not a rare thing in war fronts. Go play Defiants to realize how full of shit that statement is.

The new codex is a utter joke because of healing. You concentrate the entire team at codex and stack healers = auto win

Yes, warriors are all carrying tank (sword n board) specs because they lose only a tiny amount of the DPS from damage dealing specs, but gain significantly in mitigation and health pools. Any warrior with even a single pocket healer is unkillable, and has been for so long I cannot remember what it is like to not view warriors as unkillable walls.

Not only do warriors have amazing tank specs but they've been as good or better than anyone else at bursting down every other class and spec bar melee rogues for over a year now. Thank god Lingering Wounds is gone, TTK just went up 0.5s.

You want to balance the game now based on a complain about a class from over a year and a half ago, talk about over reacting much.

The reason that healers become an issue is that CC in RIFT sucks, it breaks too easily, it goes on DR too easily. You cannot play tactically, so healers are much harder to fine tune.

And by healers I mean clerics, lets not kid ourselves that mages are actually useful as healers in PvP.

I had hope that this would rectify the ballon raid situation...nope...still as unfun and shitty as ever. Jesus I hope Dendrome just knocks my socks off.
