And the new "unannounced feature" will be...

The unannounced feature will be in the last patch of the expansion and give players a lot of new content to play with.
    1. Scaling of all old raids/dungeons similar to challenge modes. Bosses will still drop the same loot, therefore the rewards will be cosmetic only. Transmog gear, titles, and mounts.

    2. Random Raid Finder. This may not be the feature they're talking about, but will probably be introduced in 5.3. Keep the older MoP raids alive, while giving players extra valor for completing a random raid.

    3. Some kind of user created content. Highly unlikely, but had to put it here just in case. I hate to say player housing, because I don't think that fits w/ wow and devs have stated many times they don't like the idea, but something similar is probably to be expected. I honestly thing they are slowly testing the waters for this with sunsong ranch.

Just my 2 cents. Your thoughts?

i just dont see it being any of the above. your suggestions basically give a limited window of "things to do". the number one option might be interesting, but cosmetic rewards dont really equal the effort put forth. look at challenge modes. while they are fun, not many have had time or desire to try those yet.

This was my first thought too. Not just to challenge modes though, and maybe automatic item scaling so if a group of 90's queue for Wailing Caverns all the loot will be tuned to 90, as well as the mobs.

I voiced this sentiment on the recent main page news thread. It's possible that, instead of mounts, pets, etc, they might have "tiers" of transmog-only sets for the old expansions, like they have now.

Though something like "naxxramas challenge mode" sounds... hellish...

    Not really feeling this one.

Player housing was my other go-to thought. Or perhaps guild housing... less of a "everyone tucked away keeping to themselves," which Blizzard seems keen on avoiding.

Ghostcrawler says some people might be underwhelmed by it ("that's it?") so it's likely something not everyone is head over heels for whatever the concept is now... I know player housing, challenge modes, and maybe... pet battles, fit that bill.

You really think people wouldn't jump on the opportunity to relive some of their old memories of Vanilla/BC raids? I sure as hell would just for nostalgia sake. Would hazard a guess that it might bring back a lot of old players too for this reason. Not that I think Blizz will ever go that route - but I would be happy to be proven wrong.

So ...just titles in the end.Who the hill would want a difficulty scaled Sunwell when you can just solo it and get all the transmog and mounts as it is right now? And thats 90% of current old content.
Do you mean those raids/dungeons become non-soloable?

I would go for your (2).

Still wishes its cross faction rbg / arena, afterall in those places, you are already killing your own faction, it would make sense that "gladiators from different sides group up for a common goal" since morals are lot less important in pvp, but meh, i guess i can just keep on wishing

as long as the gear is purely cosmetic, yes i really think only a small niche of players would jump at this opportunity. you might want to relive it but i highly doubt you would be doing this very often. and it would suck even more for the people that just want to go grab some quick outfits to now all the sudden have to put together full legit raid groups for a chance of it.

Edit: i would like to say, if there is an on/off switch for the gear scaling thingie. then that would change everything. but removing the option would hurt people just wanting some cute transmog stuff, in order to give a small crowd some nostalgia cookies.

Player housing is never coming to WoW. Ever. MoP was entirely about getting people out of cities into the world. Player housing would get players out of the world, out of cities, into a prison cell they can decorate with crap.

Player housing... desirable if everyone played on like 10 servers, instead of the 246 sparsely populated ones. We have.

Old instance scaling is never coming either.

As for what secret feature, I'm gonna go with a hybrid of Challenge modes and Brawlers guild. Kind of like brawlers guild with a group and a large number of random bosses based on past content.

The transmog gear would be "new" sets of transmog gear available.... perhaps new models of old gear sets, or maybe brand new gear all together.

It says NEW content. Not old scaled/revamped/whatever.

Did you even read the sentence you quoted???

It clearly says you are given new content to play with and you suggest we are given old content to play with??

I know what I said. And what I quoted. Wouldn't be the first time that "new" content isn't "old". Blizz has rehashed plenty in the past.

And, furthermore, just because it's old to you doesn't mean it's old to every other player.

Sticking to what I originally said.

I think it will be a lot smaller then they make it seem. Something only a small part of the community really likes. Remember, dailies was 'a lot of content' too, and not that many people appreciate it.

Yeah because it wouldn't be the first time Blizz have said something and it came out differently we (the playerbase) expected.
