Yes it has always bugged me too. It's no different than using frost bomb as an arcane mage, it just bugs me.

Except mages study all the arts...your expertise simply lies in arcane/frost/fire. Which is also why arcane mages deeply vested in arcane spells know more than a fire or frost Mage. But the basics still exist for all mages.
It's hard to say no to Yoo-Hoo chocolate drinks...the name literally beckons.
