    Anyone finding ROP not as the most OP spell for 5.2?

    As the topic says, anyone not finding ROP insanely OP? Been playing for a while on the PTR now, and its seriously out of control. A silence and disarm every 45 seconds, and you can not trinket it. Seriously Blizzard? How is this ok?

    Its not even a point trying to land a kill when you meet monks in arena. You will get into the bullshit TOP every singe time. And it doesnt DR with their disarm and silence either... Its pathetic atm. Could maybe lived with it if it was on a 3 min cd, but 45 sec? seriously?

    It's a strong anti melee tool which we forego a 5 second stun for on a similar cooldown, if you're a caster move out of the ring -> Cast

    Well I don't think people want it to go live in its current PTR iteration (except monks lol) and that's why they voice their concerns now and not when it's too late. We all know how long it takes before Blizzard does something after it's gone live (warriors, hunters, warlocks at the beginning of the expansion are good examples).

    Edit: Some things, like RoP CD, ST+DT combo for rogues and mages' insane damage are things that should be looked at and revised before D-day IMO. Which, unfortunately, is unlikely considering how close we are to 5.2 launch now.

    A lot of people still think that it silences everything for the 8s duration. The current version just silences you for 3 seconds after casting a harmful spell. It doesn't stop the spell that triggers the silence, and it doesn't silence on heals or beneficial spells. It's still extremely strong against melee, though.

    what is ptr for, if not to determine how stuff works and what is op and what needs a buff and so forth. To me it seems like the live servers should not be used for balancing stuff out.

    Wow, that's almost verbatim Blizzard logic. It's not a good way of doing things, btw. This is pretty much how that process works:

    1. Introduce stupid ability on PTR
    2. PTR testers say it's broken
    3. Blizzard says PTR feedback is limited/biased/wrong/etc.
    4. Stupid change goes live
    5. Concerns initially expressed by PTR testers are widely echoed by entire community
    6. Three months later Blizzard changes completely unrelated abilities to balance the class
    7. Class changes aren't enough or are far too harsh
    8. Balance still sucks; better luck next season

    You should of seen Ring of Peace before they nerfed it. Now THAT was retarded. The person who invented that ability and put it
    into the game should be fired asap and blacklisted forever.

    It is manageable now atleast. Just be happy they nerfed it before live instead of waiting for a whole season to go on and letting
    all monks get free glad.

    Didn't they say they wanted it to be slightly OP so people would start playing monks in pvp? The class is their new baby and has no representation at all right now. I doubt you'll see it nerfed any more before the patch.

    No, they stated that since Monk representation was so low in pvp that they would need some severe buffs. RoP was never specifically mentioned.

    RoP is one of those things that started EXTREMELY OP, but now is decent and an actual choice instead of a mandatory talent. I find RoP to be quite an interesting ability now after they tuned it down.

    But yeah, before they tuned RoP down it was extremely OP ._.

    People were calling it OP a while ago. It's been nerfed as have monks as a whole. Now it's rogues that are on top.

    This and Solar Beam both need to be fixed to work with trinkets. As soon as that happens, both abilities will be fine.

    Exactly. So why even bother with PvP? It's garbage in this game.

    Solar beam, the EASIEST ability to avoid in the history of games. Take 2 steps sideways. GG ability countered.

    REALLY good against melee (one if not THE best counter) but as allready said, pretty much useless against half brained casters. It only silence offensive damage spells (you can still CC and purge freely) at melee range, fear/blink/bump and you're free to nuke.

    Monk will just have to switch talent to match opposite team comp.

    If that doomkin isn't rooting/vortexing you while his teammates are DPSing you in that you're playing against the worst player of the class ever.

    OT: Need less CC that can't be trinketed (and less CC period but that's for another thread). Examples being aforementioned Solar Beam, as well as RoP and Fists of Fury. There's a few more but those are definitely the 3 that pop up most often.

    Well we hate people that don't understand what the PTR is for.

    Untrinketable AOE CC is terrible. We know this from RBGs having been turned into who can better GG Solar Beam Vortex. We don't need more of that bullshit.
