I'd say this is partially true when it comes to singletarget only, although as soon as we have 2 targets or more we instantly do way more than most other classes and of course when we have a pure multidotting fight we go crazy :> But yes a simple buff to mind flay would suffice and no other changes would be necessary for us, atleast not PvE-wise

Please. You are grasping at straws now. That proves my point. Raids need specialists, not hybrids. So while an elemental shaman could heal a bit, it would be painfully weak, whereas in vanilla PVP they could heal themselves to full fine.

Ret paladins ARE hybrids. They were healers in triple DPS setups. A melee DPS spec replaced actual healers in that setup.

I don't care what WoW has told you.

You know, back in vanilla, an enhancement shaman or an elemental shaman was a real hybrid because it could both damage and heal effectively.

    That's a real hybrid.

If you want to call a class with 3-4 distinct roles a hybrid when they can only perform one role (competitively) at a time, feel free.
I will actually. Right alongside every single other player in this game. Besides you apparently.

I don't give a crap about the dictionary definition, this is WOW, when i see warlocks running around the street with pets i'll use the dictionary definition.

Pure DPS classes (Hunter, Warlock, Mage, Rogue). According to WOWWiki

You want more proof? go look at who the hybrid tax effected back in the day, did you play then?

Blizz disagree with the dictionary definition of hybrid, sorry.

so let see as the way your saying all class that can do 2 or more roles in a group is a hybrid. priests, pally, dk, war, druid, monk, and shaman there the list now what they can do.. tank dps war and dk, heal and dps priest and shaman, tank heal and dps pally and monk, and last heal tank rdps and mdps druids. Full hybrids have been dead from when 4.0.0 was 1st live. be for that you could mix and match down full trees not this crap they have now. next time you post think you noob......

If you are doing low dmg as a shadow priest compared to someone with equal gear, im sorry to tell you, the problem exists between user and keyboard and no where else.

Really Blizzard? You kept the upgrade heirloom gear bullshit?

Oh fuck you, and a thousand times at that. What a truly terrible decision.

I'm still upset about this. I finally got my staff last week and was only able to do a 1/2 upgrade -_-.

Ret paladins have always been warrior/healer hybrids. True hybrids. They can both fight and heal effectively. That's why their sustained damage suffers because they are hard to balance.

Do you guys really want to keep arguing this point? You're just arguing for the sake of argument.

I don't care what Blizzard or WoWwiki has decided what hybrid means. In the real world it means something that is a cross between different things, and in WoW's case, a spec that can perform two or more different roles *at the same time*. Or in WoW's case, without needing to respec.

Ok dude, show me a DPS warrior that can tank an heroic raid boss without tanking gear. At the moment they wouldn't be able to do it without a prot spec.

Warriors were a DPS/tank hybrid and actually still are a bit in PVP because a DPS warrior can swap to a shield and use tank abilities to reduce damage, but in PVE, they are SPECIALISTS.

If Blizzard told you that the sun was made of cheese, would you believe that too?
A ret paladin couldn't heal a tank tanking a raid boss either...

It's almost always the wrong argument to compare yourself to the highest DPS specs out there. "Middle of the pack" is actually where everyone is supposed to be. -Ghostcrawler

Could you actually read my posts?

A ret paladin could add very nice healing on heroic Rag for a DPS spec. Ret paladins played triple DPS in the latter half of Cata where they replaced healers in 3v3 setups.

Ret paladins are true hybrids. It's how they are designed. They are warrior/healers by design. Believe me I'd love for Blizz to just make it a pure DPS spec, but it's not.

Your logic is all over the place and you're moving the goal post constantly. PvP is different from PvE first of all, so rets healing in 3s is about as "hybrid" as a warrior "tanking" in 3s by switching into defensive stance and using defensive cool downs. Secondly, enhance shamans can also heal while DPSing, just like fury warriors can tank while DPSing. The disconnect you seem to be having is that while healing, or tanking, damage goes down, but healing or tanking potential goes up, thus making them hybrid healers or hybrid tanks. Finally, ret paladins cannot do pure DPS and then heal on the side, they choose between damage or healing on per-spell basis, so by your definition they are not hybrids. That 3 power word of glory just took out a templar's verdict from his damage.

Actually, raids need hybrids, but since you probably haven't seen a heroic encounter in your life, I can't fault you for not knowing that. Who performs better on Tsulong; ret paladins, or rogues? The answer is ret paladins, because they can stop doing damage mid fight and heal the boss after every breath. This healing will have greater effect than any extra DPS you might get from bringing a rogue. I can continue to list more examples of where you're just flat out wrong if you'd like.

Also, ret heals are actually weaker than elemental heals in most scenarios, so "ur wrong breh, quit bein shallow"

Figured I would just go ahead and post and skip this assinine hybird / pure agrument because in reality, it's completely ridiculous.

I'm on vacation ATM so I missed the patch (so mad about that), can anyone give me the 411 on Warlocks? Mainly Destro? How's the DPS? is that 15% nerf a bummer or does the buffs to inc/immo/conflag balance it all out?

Mostly a bummer. If you switch to GoSup and a haste build you should be sort of o.k. for single target, but cleaving is going to be weaker. Destro did not really do anything to close the gap to Affli/Demo in an overall sense.
