What show/movie was this?

Recently I've been thinking of a show/movie I saw when I was a little kid, and I can't remember much about it other than it really intrigued me and I can't recall the name... In the show/movie (whatever it was) there was an individual who had weird little rituals (like OCD) that she had to do every day, such as dropping a pencil or something several times, or the world would go crazy and bad things would happen. In the end she gives in and stops doing it, and planes fall out of the sky, people get into car crashes, and a security guard gets thanked for shooting a guys friend. It's really been bothering me so I thought I'd see if the MMO-Champion community might know what show I'm talking about?

No idea, but damn that sounds weird.

Yeah it was weird but it was funny and kind of intriguing, and I'd like to see what I think of it now that I've aged a bit.
