It used to be that a man had to look for reasons for why Homeschooling is better than Public Schools. These days, I just have to wake up.

The is no scientific data that suggests that sugar induces hyperactivity. If anything high blood sugar levels tend to make people sleepy.
    Ripped from Wikipedia..

The majority of studies show no connection between sugar and hyperactivity. Some people, particularly parents and teachers, believe that sugar causes hyperactivity, and that children's behavior often gets more rowdy, excited and energetic after they eat too many sugary foods and drink too many sugary drinks (such as chocolates/sweets or soft drinks). One particular study found that the perception by parents regarding their children's hyperactivity depended on their belief as to whether they had been given sugar

Refined (processed) sugars may have some effect on children's activity. Because refined sugars and carbohydrates enter the bloodstream quickly, they produce rapid fluctuations in blood glucose levels. This might trigger adrenaline and make a child more active. Sometimes, falling adrenaline levels bring on a period of decreased activity.

man back when i was in school i was given a RPC for walking around the track with my friend acting out a scene from MIB we were using our folders to shoot aliens. when my mother came in to the school and she was told that i was making wrong gestures and that people thought i was going to shoot them. my mother laughed her ass off and said ya right the only thing u should be scared of him shooting out of a traperkeeper is paper but then again those paper cuts can hurt.

Agreed. I'm all for increased security (metal detectors, locker searches, even having armed security guards around schools), but this "zero tolerance" bullshit where kids get suspended for finger guns and things like this is beyond retarded, as are the people who enforce it.

We used to play with those little cap guns and squirt guns a lot when I was in early grade school (although we're talking 20+ years ago). Took them out to the playground and had all sorts of fun. To the best of my knowledge, a grand total of 0 people were killed, or even injured, by those. They might get taken away if we got caught with them, but nothing so extreme as suspension would happen.

You'd get expelled (maybe even sent to juvenile hall or something) for taking something like that to a school now.

We're reaching thought police levels here, between stuff like this and the prior thread where they were punishing finger-guns.

I'm surprised they haven't banned pencils. Break one of those right and you have a sharp wooden shank that could do a lot more damage than a slightly soggy gun-shaped pop-tart.
No we're already at thought police levels..When you can get arrested AND locked away fo SIMPSONS porn you're at thought police levels....It HAS happened...Multiple times....

Sad thing is this is how the worlds going right now. If it even could be dangerous somewhere some how some way then we gotta do away with it...And yes i KNOW it was bart and lisa...Shouldn't matter they're CARTOON characters.

What our schools are doing is just a reflection of this whole hyper safe mentality..PC will be the death of humanity..And TBH i don;t see this ending short of a REAL war or something forcing people to realizing what REAL danger is..Alot of people perceptions on what is or isn;t dangerous are all kindsa f'd up right now. They see danger in simple kids games and playstyles while ignoring the TRUE danger of losing our rights and freedoms....

Worlds a messed up place right now.

This is just 1 more reason to avoid putting your childern into a public school system, Teachers are all crazy. " Home schooling " is laughed at because of the bad parents
that get lazy and dont take it serious. however if you are willing ( and have the money ) teaching your child from home is just the way to go. There's so many websites and businesses out there that will teach them everything they need to know.

It's common sence, Why put them in a place where they can be subjected to mental & physical abuse from Bullys and Teachers, The risk of them getting gunned down, sexual abuse, kidnapping, Boring classes and now - sheer stupidity. Might as well send you kid to jall. The child this happened to will probably get bullyed for this event for the rest of his school years.

People saying we are in the end-times really don't know anything. Such as there's going to be 7 years of world peace before it happens and as long as china and russia are still a thing its safe to say its not going to happen anytime soon.

You're exactly right, there are incidents like this happening all over the country. Public schools have become little more than political indoctrination camps for the left. It's gotten to the point where if you want your children to have a bright future and the ability to think for themselves, you pretty much have to send them to private school or homeschool them.

The poor kid probably doesn't even understand why he got in trouble for eating food. Anti-gun culture is really starting to get ridiculous.

While being suspended over a pop tart is dumb, I'd strongly disagree with alot of what you said. Homeschooling isn't necessarily bad, but often times the kids are sheltered from many things. "Boring classes" is often times a student being too lazy to learn, not every class is going to be fun and full of excitement, and if the kid goes to college I'd rather him have a variety of teachers and students that he has learned to work with, instead of only working with his parents. To each their own, but I think public school at least teaches a kid a little of how the world really is, rather than keeping them at a house where they don't have nearly as many opportunities to meet new people, make new friends, etc. Bullies will also forever be a part of life, and I'd rather my kid know how to deal with that instead of just avoiding him ever having to deal with someone trying to bully them.

Suspend his parents for feeding him junk instead.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

Lol, i cant believe the retardness that has come to some people. You see more and more of these news articles everyday and I'm not one to nation bash or anything, but things are getting out of hand in the USA... It's a seven year old for crying out loud, ~15 years ago this wouldnt even be a problem and it shouldn't be now.

Which CAN then lead to a political indoctrination towards the right...No what we need if anything is to revert to the old 80s-70s style of things...MAYBE 70s...Schools are too damn paranoid and from what i know even waivers don;t prevent lawsuits anymore. TBH i say we make schools roughly immune to lawsuits(ACTUAL abuse would be dealt with by law enforcement as usual..and i mean abuse by teachers) and things should start to sort out from there.

As a kid who was juggled around his district like a foster kid and homes i can attest to this.My Homeschool periods did FAR more damage to me then anything else short of the borderline day prison school(you don't even wanna know about THAT place).
