There is a big difference between PvP and Camping quest givers. I see nothing wrong with what Blizzard did.

I think what would have been more fun is if the GM just spawned in loads and loads of guard npcs' and have them fight back, little by little, until the situation was under control, then de-spawn the guards. I guess it's best not to make me a GM then haha.
Turn what appears to be a painful experience into a more chaotic special event sorta deal.

After reading both sides in this thread (keep it civil, guys, come on!), I have to agree with the GM about it. There is a big difference between camping the island itself, which allows the other faction the ability to at least give it a sporting try to fight back, and taking advantage of load times to AoE-kill anyone who attempts to enter.
Developers should have done something instead of Blizzard GM's wasting their time on fucking people who do World PvP.
Honestly? If you don't want to WPvP, don't play a PvP server.
I'm sick and tired of seeing QQ, and then Blizzard responding to it like this.
Don't like it? Server transfer.

It should have been 3 days long.
They were preventing people from accessing the island because you need to do that npc's talk quest before anything else opens, which obviously was impossible. But the problem here is blizzards, if you don't want people PvPing there on that boat, don't make it possible, either make it an Alliance/Horde Zone (so that faction is not automatically flagged when entering) or put heavy NPC guard. Players are going to pvp wherever they can, you can't ban them for that.
Doesn't camping the boat mean they can't get other people together? Seems a bit much, can't you just grief the people trying to kill rares instead?
After looking at the screenshots the guildmaster is kind of acting like a little shit. Props to the GM for having to deal with that guy.

I really don't understand why Blizzard just doesn't create some proper guards, that get a stacking health and damage buff each time they are killed if they don't want a faction to dominate a questgiver area... In the end the guards would even one-shot tanks, but would still only stay on the ship.
I say the GM is in the wrong and if you had taken the ban and appealed for it, it would have been revoked, hope to hear Ghostcrawler comment on this though.

It was ok with it once they started to move back and forth form the raid portal to the landing orb on the island but we are not talking just 40 on the ship it was more the server could only show you that much at one time so for the most part you could not even see the players killing you.
Don't try and make this something it isn't, PvP wasn't the problem here, the problem was there was so many of them and they were doing a lot of AOE spells, and thus Zone disruption, i would take a guess also they were also AOEing when they were not in combat
Simply put, it wasn't PvP that was the issue, but the huge disruption to the zone to both factions making it so noone can quest, that's un-needed to be honest, Nothing wrong here
