    [WeakAuras] How to check if abilty being casted by boss is on me ?

    Hi everyone.

    So i'm trying to make this weakaura to check if Siegecrafter blackfuse us currently casting is Sawblade on me.

    I've done a first trigger that is checking if the boss is casting and if the spell name is "launching sawblade" but couldnt figure out how to check if the target of the spell was me.

    Could someone provide any help there ?

    I'm assuming you're using the combat_log_event_unfiltered event in which case it is just destName = UnitName("Player") (destName being you)

    I haven't tested SoO on the PTR, but assuming it's a common "boss casts X and while targetting player" you could try this:

    Trigger 1: Event -> Combat Log -> SPELL_CAST_START, spell name = Launching Sawblade
    Trigger 2: Custom
    - Event Type: Status, Check On: Every Frame (might be able to fine-tune this later, using specifig events.. for now this should do)
    - Custom Trigger: function() return UnitIsUnit("boss1target", "player") end
    - Custom Untrigger: function() return true end

    Be sure to set "Required for activation" to "All Triggers" after adding the 2nd trigger.

    I copied this from bigwig's code, haven't gotten a chance to test it. (When a sawblade is targetted at you, you get a RAID_BOSS_WHISPER)

    Yeah for anyone who has tried to use my original WA string on live, this topic was posted before 5.4, there is no destination unit in the combat log anymore, so you can't actually use the combat log for it

    Is this only for this exact spell, or is there no destination unit anymore in general? i don't know, what blizz is aiming for, but this fact has already taken me several hours on Durumu to find a working trigger for the colored ppl.

    Did we ever have a destName on SPELL_CAST_START? I thought only SPELL_CAST_SUCCESS had it attached but could be wrong.

    What is it you're exactly trying on Durumu?

    Oh yeah, maybe you're right, I don't remember exactly what I was looking at when this was posted
