Two races. Two completely different npcs. Two different letters.
Surely this has confused others besides myself?

When Lei Shen was first announced as the main antagonist of 5.2 I thought to myself "Isn't that that one boss from Terrace of Endless Spring?"
I will admit that the two names are pretty similar.
Man, I've got bags under my eyes... BAGS OF MONEY!
See ya later, peasants.

Easy. I don't even play anymore and I know the difference. One posts on the forums

Whatever kind of joke that was, I don't know. Was worth it.
It tripped me up for a moment when I was checking the ToES journal. But they are in no way related.
You're right! I better tell other fantasy villains, such as Sauron and Saruman, not to have similar names in the future.
Soon to be introduced for the next raid tier:
Lee Shung
Lou Shan
Liu Shing
I easily know the difference between them but the similarity of the names did occur to me as something unideal. I'm not sure why Blizzard didn't tweak the names a little bit to exaggerate the difference. Something as minor as making Lei Shi into Mei Shi would have made an enormous impact on any confusion or misreads.

Once upon a time while proofreading, I discovered that I am terrible at English. If this post is edited, now you know why.
I'm sure asians probably think "James" and "Jamie" are the same name too.
Just translation differences.
My RL called Lei Shen "Lei Shi" at least twice last night![]()
