    PC Spec!

Hey guys, im building a new PC soon, and I created a spec with PcPartPicker:

Any recommendations about upgrades/downgrades that could save me money? I can push the budget by another... £50 max I'd say

    Thanks guys

no need for a network adapter since there is one build in on the mobo.
all other parts are fine except for the HDD since you aren't running a ssd with it i'd say get a faster 7200 rpm drive. (WD (caviar) black would be a splendid choice)

    - Change 1x8GB RAM into 2x4GB, you want even number of sticks
    - Don't get laptop HDD, it's slow. WD Caviar Blue or Black instead.
    - Drop network card unless you need two. All motherboards come built-in with gigabit LAN now
    - Do you need the WLAN adapter for something?
    - Preferably switch the PSU into higher quality device. Corsair's builder series (CX) aren't as good as TX/HX/AX. Also you don't need 750W for anything, that computer would happily run with 450W PSU.

    Trolling should be.

You really don't need a 750W PSU. Saying now that you might be planning to add a 2nd 7870 in the future, I would say then a 650W is enough.

Faithh is right, 750W is overkill. I realize that you've already stated your desire to stick to that size, but I feel like it is worth posting.

Contrary to popular belief, there is a downside to using a power supply that is too big for your needs. Power supplies work most efficiently at around 80% load, because that system will not be using anything close to 600W the lifespan of the power supply will be effected.

Unless you're getting free delivery from Aria, which you won't unless you've signed up to one of their partnership forums for 28 days with a specific post count, you'll need to add an extrs £8 to your build.

I'm not a huge fan of the Corsair Builder Series for gaming builds and for the price you could get something more reputable and reliable but ofcourse less rated power.

Which comes out at around £20 more expensive due to the better HDD, 2x4GB of RAM. The prices are pretty much upto date too.

I'll throw this out there also. As has been said, you don't need the. Network adapter. I'm guessing you need wireless to hook up your comp. Have you considered a Power line adapter. It uses your house/apartments electrical current. Works incredibly well for me. Easily 2 to 3x faster than wireless for me.
