Game addictions don't exist, stupidity does.

Always put your life on priority.

I'm one of those people who had a very active life outside of the game before I started playing. I had a lot of RL friends and went out to bars and clubs all the time. You know why I started playing? Because I began asking myself the same questions about my RL that you're asking about your gaming life. "Why do I keep doing this?" "What am I accomplishing spending all my money on alcohol and destroying myself every weekend?" "Why are none of the people I meet or friends I make while I'm out doing these things ever really good friends for long?" "At the end of the day, what do I have to show for this but a lighter wallet, a broken liver, and maybe some stories that no one will appreciate but me?"

WoW helped get me out of that and made me realize something. Like others have said, if you enjoy the time you waste, then it isn't really wasted time. We all need that kind of time. We all need to do nothing at times. Being productive 24/7 is a huge drag. Our minds just aren't designed that way. I like to think of that old night life or gaming life as mental downtime. It's like the time you take between workouts so your body can recover. Do what makes you happy, and do your best to keep it in control. Obviously, the addiction part can sneak in and make a nice therapeutic thing like gaming problematic. But don't feel so bad for doing it just because you think it's a waste. We all have our little wastes in life. And we need them.

Yeah sure addictions doesn't exist. People are just stupid when they can't stop drinking , doing drugs or gambling in a casino.

There is no such thing as "WoW addiction", just weak willpower if you neglect your duties and life and play instead. Sooo no, never felt that way. Besides, a lot of times I had to force myself to keep playing if I didn't want to let down my guild. raids were often so mind numbingly boring. Sure, a lot of times I also played WoW instead of doing something more important but I was just lazy, if I couldn't have played WoW then, I would have just read FB comments or watched funny animal videos on Youtube or something similar.

My life was ruined way before I started WoW.
Approximately when I quit soccer at the age of 7.

Wow has definitely had an impact on my life, for better or for worse, it definitely leads towards the worse end... it definitely hurt my grades in middle school. But I've since lost interest in the game and only play for dailies and to keep current.

Well, good job, you're so weak that you got addicted on something that's not addictive, the reason you chose WoW over homework or other stuff is because you're stupid.

Grats, it took you 10 years to make the same decision as the OP.

    OP wins.

    video i didn't watch
Well, first off, if you're talking about being stupid, you are ill-informed if you think that addictions are only in regards to substances (drugs/alcohol). Why? Because there are more types of addictions. Behavioral addictions do exist. This can be things like exercising, eating, PLAYING GAMES, gambling, hoarding, viewing pornography, etc.
Those are addictions, and it causes the same type of thing to happen in your brain that makes you want to keep doing it.

My point is that you are calling people stupid because you don't think addictions aside from chemically induced ones are real. They are. Some people are addicted to WoW. First step is admitting it.
