Is anybody else having this problem?
i can log in but when i get to character screen and click on one of my characters. it starts loading then it cancels out and says "character not found"
does anybody know what is wrong?

Just keep trying; it'll log you in eventually.
If not, do your standard clearing of WTF files, etc. I had the issue levelling the other day, took me three or four tries before it let me back in.
It'll probably deposit you somewhere that isn't where you originally were, however - I ended up jumping from Burning Steppes to the graveyard behind Karazhan (it's to do with where the game thinks you are - the error is caused by the server and your computer disagreeing about where the character should be).Siege of Orgrimmar Predictions (04/02/13):

A temporary solution is to remove the WTF folder. But I usually just relog and try again.
