Racial preference in Women, is it racism?

    Hey fellas!

Recently, I have found my taste in women take a polarity shift.

During High school, I almost exclusively dated white women and rejected blacks/hispanics. Back then, I felt that white women are just less of a headache since most minority women I met almost always carried an attitude.

Fast forward to college years, and I have met a lot of open minded and modest black women (One im starting to fall for) Kind of a new thing for me to adjust to.

My question is, is my previous prefrence in white women racist?

Why would a preference be racist?

if you're white there's nothing wrong dating whoever you like.

I would say stereotyping women based on their race could be perceived as racist.
I wouldn't say being more attracted to women of X race over Y is racist.

Men are very visual so I think most prefer lighter colored women due to the contrast in skin, hair, eyes, etc...

I don't think it's racist, just more of a biological difference.

Having a preference in who you find attractive isn't racist.

No, it isn't racist. I'm not attracted to black women for example same as I'm not attracted to women who wear those giant circle earrings(no clue why, they're a major turn-off). It's just how you feel.

    No, it's your preference. Lol.

Just because you don't find a certain race of woman attractive means you feel like she's inferior in any way. Just not what you're into. My friends poke fun at me all the time because I typically find black men more attractive than others. It's partly because of where I grew up but it's also just what I like.

Having a preference isn't racist, but you didn't have a preference based on race, you formed a bias based on perceptions/stereotypes you have of minority women.

For example, I'm a black woman and my husband is white; I've only ever dated white men because that's what I find attractive. I don't cut out minority men because I perceive them as being useless, uneducated, ghetto, or violent (You yourself are mixed, it certainly would be racist if I ignored you because I figured you were some kind of criminal, right?) but because that simply isn't what strikes my fancy. I presume you can see the difference in these schools of thought.

I have banged almost every skin color to be found in humans.

You can't put a quantifiable number on what you find attractive. Just do what ever floats your boat.

Because they're ugly as sin, they're also repulsive. The earrings that is! (If you mean Ear Gauges, or whatever people call them)

no not really, Im white and I prefer white women in the general sense of attractiveness, but theres plenty of women out there who are black / brown who I find hot, but then again I find slightly (naturally) Tanned women Spanish for example hot as well,

Althoug white girls, who slap that tan on, just got to hell

But if you go around parading I ONLY LIKE WHITE WOMEN I ONLY DATE WHITE WOMEN, WOULDN'T TOUCH A BLACK WOMAN, then expect to get called racist and your arse handed to you

    This oversensitivity...

I'm willing to bet good money that the OP is from the USA, where they tend to totally overblow things like racism and sexism to gigantic proportions, and give the rest of us headaches on the internet.

That's about as close to racism as Snoop Dogg is an advocate for the fair and equal treatment of women. You didn't prefer those women not because of their race, but because of their personality. Just because that personality tends to be a racial stereotype doesn't make that racism, it still just means they act like brainless morons.

I wouldn't date anyone that acts like their racial stereotype, either. Not because of their race, but because they're choosing to act like fools. I'm actually attracted to all races as long as they act like people that I can be attracted to.

It's cultural racism. We're brainwashed by the media to think white girls are the hottest. Look at any magazine, movie, porn film, etc. You can find girls of every ethnicity as a sex symbol, but white girls are far and above the most common. They're also the ones people think are the hottest.

This affects everybody, not just white guys. Look at how many black rappers and athletes marry white girls. We're all trained to think white girls are the most desirable. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just the way it is.

    Its not racism.
Racism is when you oppress, discriminate, dislike, hate, or act violently towards a group of people because of their race.

Being more attracted to a certain type or skin color isn't discrimination, its preference. I find some black women attractive, but I generally prefer pale-er skin. Just like I prefer dark hair and green eyes.
