[Movies] Please suggest a scary movie for 14 year olds

As the title says. My son is having a few friends over for his birthday and being the great dad that I am, I want to scare the crap out of them...

Kazzam. Seriously, Shaquille O'Neal's acting is enough to give children nighmares for a life time.
    Failing that
Jaws - The original one (rest are crap)
A Nighmare on elm street (first one)
Aliens (more of an action film than a horror)
Spiders (also known as Spiders 3D)
Eight Legged Freeks (comedy horror about spiders)

Try and stay away from gore movies and go for the thrillers.

Christine is also another good horror with little in the way of blood and guts.

Eight legged freaks is good suggestion deserves a much better rating than it has on IMDB
Aliens is another good suggestion depends what you would let your 14 year old watch:P i saw this when i was 7 rather horrifying!

    Tremors
    The Decent
    The Lost boys
    Ring
    shaun of the dead/zombieland
    The faculty

most people are probably gonna suggest old stuff

some newer ones such as Sinister/Insidious where ok but not great!

"The fourth Kind". it scared the shit out of me and my friends. and we are all 24 years old =|

(But knowing that it wasnt based on TRUE events after we watched, we felt a lot better and less scared)

Now this is something I know a little bit about.

My son is turning 9 here soon and loves horror movies ( I obviously screen everything he has seen first )

This is a sample of what he has seen

    All the Universal Monster Movies
Many of the black and white horror movies House on Haunted Hill, Haunting etc
    Critters
    Gremlins
Evil Dead 2 (although it is bloody it is more goofy thing anything) stay away from the first one for kids
    Army of Darkness
    Jaws
    Deep Blue Sea
    Poltergeist
    Insidious

    and so many others

My be all end all recommendation for that age group

    In the Mouth of Madness

Do you want them to suffer permanent brain-damage? xD

For a 14 year old maybe try "Thirteen Ghosts". It's pretty good as far as scary goes!

The Ring, no gore, a couple of scenes with disfigured victims, lots of scary suspense moments. Plus it may have much more impact if you have a VHS player still and some old videos that have no names on them

    Hellraiser - Because Hellraiser.
It - Typical horror that kids need to see to have an excuse when they wet their beds.
Sinister - With a good sound system, this movie will be REALLY scary.
Grave Encounters 1 & 2 - Paranormal crew goes into a massive nut house with a dark past.
The Mist - Town gets engulfed by a mist that has creatures from an alternate dimension in it. Typical grocery store fortress movie. Pretty cool movie for youngsters.
