    Lei shen's Ball lightning

    How does the ball lightning movement works? I have saw some videos where the ball lightnings appear around raid members, then after a few secs the ball lightnings all rush towards the tank and lei shen. How do they pull the ball lighting to the tank and lei shen?

    People group up in melee and the ball lightning charges people? Maybe deathknight grip but I'm pretty sure it's just the ball lightnings charging people in meleerange of the boss.

    The balls spawn on everyone and do splash damage when they spawn, so you want to be spread out for that. After they spawn, they repeatedly charge at random raid members, so you all stack up on him and the balls all charge at you and the boss and you can AoE them down. As long as you're not at the Diffusion Chain conduit or get a badly timed Bouncing Bolt, there's no harm in stacking up. Watch out for Lightning Whip though, especially during phase 3 when the wind comes into play.

    Like Mordor said, they spawn on players and charge after a few sec. Having a DK mass grip all the adds right after the charge works really well, just aoe them down.

    Just stack up during the ball lightning, they usually come when its safe to stack

    When ball lightning comes out, be spread initially, then just stack right back up as soon as they land. Pretty simple. Even on a platform where it's really necessary to stack like Overcharge, you can do this pretty safely. We had an overcharge go out right as ball lightning was coming this past week, and only had about 2 seconds to spread out, but just druid-roared it. As soon as they landed, we all ran right back into melee and stacked up again, easy peasy.

    If you're all stacked right up when they land though (especially on 25!), you'll probably all go splat.

    Gorefiend's Grasp, which is dk's aoe death grip has 1min cd. But the ball lighting spawn every 20-30sec. So people just group up together most of the time then?

    Yep. Once they land, just everybody runs into melee and furiously aoes them down, cleaving off of Lei Shen. They really don't do that much damage once they're actually out. They're just charging random people, so if everybody is in melee, they all charge into melee.

    There is no need for DK, as his grip will only speed the grouping with not more than 2 seconds. The balls will charge any1 distant. What u want to do is spread so you don't take the splash dmg, then group up quickly. The balls will charge in melee and you will have them stacked instantly. If you have the aoe soaking pilar on, you might wana use some raid cds, as balls spawn around the time the explosion happens. In p3 you will have them spawn right after thunderstrike, so you have no issues being spread there for them, and nothing to stop u stack after.

    Yeah like I said, they charge random players, and the charge doesn't do splash damage like their spawning does. So if everyone is stacked on the boss, then the adds will all stack on the boss. Don't spread out too much until the adds are all dead, or an add might charge you and outrange cleaves and AoE. As such, this is why it's good to deactivate Diffusion Chain, as you'd need to avoid stacking too much.

    easy mechanic....can't wait for heroic mode...if you stack up on ball lightning it's a very fast way to get "release spirit" to pop up :P

    I will link you our video so you get an idea on how we handle it. Basically be spread untill they appear, then stack up and aoe.

    It goes without saying but since no one mentioned it...
    If you have a lot of classes/specs with stun capabilities you can also chain-stun them to prevent more damage when clumped up.

    Pre-casting Binding Arrow at the stack point is pretty sick for this. They get stunned on the way in without doing any damage and then they usually die before they get the chance to jump again.

    The reason that some people say grip is because they've either worked on or killed H Lei Shen, where the balls do 250k or so AoE dmg (it's singletarget damage on normal) so yeah you can imagine what would happen if you'd let multiple balls jump into melee at the same time, it'll be a very quick affair :P But for normal you're correct, letting them jump works just as well (although it might put some people at risk of dying)

    on Heroic Lei Shen ranged spread 10-20 yards from boss and ball lightning will spawn on those ranged players and then DK mass grips them(20 yard range) and then chain stun them. If there aren't enough players on range(10 yards from boss) then they will spawn on melee players and its wipe because of the damage they do. They also link to other players and extra ball will spawn if ranged players stand in 6yards of other player, its not biggie if few ranged players are in 6 yards of each other, but if there is melee player in 6 yards of ranged player and that melee player is in 6 range of other melee players then they will link and more balls will spawn and wipe. So basically ranged spread around boss and melee stack behind boss.

    It's not about getting them in 1 spot faster, on normal mode. It's about DPS not needing to move, which increases your dps by quite a bit. Of course it isn't a problem anymore, but at 1st week with some bad gear P2 was some kind of a dps check.

    Only if you were trying to kill it without ever getting a pillar to level two. It's pretty much the norm to have lei shen's pillars all get to level two in heroic during the 2nd phase, which means you're having transitions with all three maxed out + bouncing still going on due to the boss inheriting the ability and casting it.
