Looks like it comes in at about 10% performance loss compared to a 660, which is quite a bit more expensive. Impressive indeed.

It seems that, if the 7870 XT is just a tad to expensive or not needed, the 650 ti Boost is the card to go for. I just hate the name tho.

I mean, we have a 650, 650 ti and now a 650 ti boost. Atleast AMD adds another number, so that makes it clearer.
All nvidia could have done was calling it a 655, but I admit Ti Boost does sound better than 655 :P

I believe AMD has just announced that they will stop manufacturing the 7850 because the 7790 is in a much better position. I find the jump from a 7770 to a 7790 to a 7870 to be a bit on the steep side, but at least these are all great options for budget builders.

I still find the GTX 650 to be lackluster, the 650 Ti to be alright and the jump to the 660 to be a bit steep in places. Nice to see a GTX 650 Ti Boost.

I've always been an nvidia fan, but with the Neversettle offer going with ATI cards, it's hard to jusify nvidia cards atm, especially when buying a graphics card can get you 2 free games. I got tomb raider and bioshock infine with my 7850, i'm happy with it. I wouldn't have bought these games otherwise but when you take into consideration the cost of both games, 78xx series cards are incredibly attractive.

They are only stopping the production of 7850 1GB, the 2GB version will stick around.

I think the 7870/7870 GHz edition are pretty much the same card. All 7870 cards run at a minimum of 1 GHz (except for the XT), I think pcpartpicker (if you are basing it on that) is just wrong there.

You do have me at the XT, should have called that a 7890 or better yet 7930.

I live off the power grid, so i have to run off of solar/batteries/generator (when batteries get low and no sun is out, costs money in gas) So the lower power usage with high performance is great.

I'll still likely end up going with the 7790. less power than my current one (6770) and a fair bit more performance.
