Is it possible to Data mine rift?

Just wondering, mmo-champion and chaud is superb at data mining WoW PTR patches and such, i was just wondering if it was possible to do the same thing with RIFT? i would love to see the SL soundtrack data mined amongst other things?

I have heard a couple people mention a discovery.xml file that contains data such as item stats and whatnot. Not sure how you go about getting it though.

hehe, having the same discussion over here I see ^^ *came from the official forums*
I was the one being stupid, giving you the chocolate Rift soundtrack. :/
I'll keep my eye out for the SL soundtrack! Maybe I'll stumble upon it.
Seems like the guy who made the chocolate audio had _something_ to do with SL...

I know it was very doable and possible months ago, Puremallace would know more but parts of Ember Isle and even some SL models and content was datamined from files.

I'm fairly sure that Trion have locked any files that get put onto the game now though, haven't seen anything datamined for a while

Trion switched file formats when they changed over to that active client thing that could allow you to play while still downloading. In SL they switch back to a file format very close to what used to be easily minable. I never made the script that essentially decoded the file in chocolate Rift, but used one I found.

If someone made a new script I am sure it would be easy to apply to current Rift files. We used to use a file called Rift.bms and it would convert the compressed files to their expanded version of .Nif and we could view them with NIFSkope
