The Dark Animus LFR Kite Strat of win!!!!!!!

So today as we all should know by now, Halls of the Flash-Shaping have came out today which means we get 3 new bosses in LFR. I just finished running this on my Warlock and was doing my best to learn mechanics due to the fact i have never seen any of these bosses before on Normal.

When we got to Dark Animus, none of my group it seemed knew how to do the boss and so we just winged it and wiped a couple times till we found... well what i like to call a kite strat. Im sure it wont work in Norm/Heroic, but at the same time i figured i would share this strat with all of you.

We had the whole raid stack in the middle of the room and let our Monk Tank grab every single Anima Golem. He the proceeded to kite them around the room and our 2nd tank would grab 1 of the Anima Golems and we would kill it. We did this to activate the last ~3 or so Anima Golems.

After that we just killed 1 more and let it activate 1 Large Anima Golem. We then proceeded to kill it while our Monk Tank kept kiting the rest of the Anima Golems. Basically it seemed like with this strat after we killed 1 Large Anima Golem, its anima would leap to the next nearby Large Anima Golem and activate it.

Doing this we ended up killing a total of 4 Anima Golems and 3 Large Anima Golems before the anima jumped to the boss and activated him. Now im sure this is not the "correct" way to do this boss, however it got us the kill so i can't complain.

Anyway i felt like sharing this funny kite strat with the rest of you =D

They gain a haste/attack/attack speed for being near another by huge amount on normal, so no, it wont work on normal ;-)
But nice tactic for LFR, I'll try and put it to use when european realms comes up with the new wing

So basically ppl in NA realms got it one day before reset ? So you could do the new wing today and do it after reset timorrow?

US reset is tuesday, EU is wednesday - so they're now on the 2nd day of this reset.

i'm sure you could of just faceroll aoe'd everything down, boss spawns nuke him and loot, seemed like an over the top tactic that wasn't needed.

Am I missing something or is this strategy significantly inferior to simply activating the Animus and killing him without touching any golems? He still siphons the same amount of anima... you just wasted time killing the large adds which you should've used to slow the anima drain...

It sounds like you basically just zerged the boss and because you had some geared players (first week of LFR) and probably a fairly high LFR failbuff by that point you made it.

You can't just activate DA. Anima just randomly jumps into a golem when you kill a golem. It's not based on proximity. Plus, I don't think it can even randomly jump to DA. he just activated through a series of emotes.

We accidently pulled this in LFR and 1 shot it by clumping in the middle and aoeing everything down.

You can also just have your monk hold them in the middle and do close to 1m DPS with AoE. Repeat for Large. Kill boss.

Just aoe'ed every thing down, killed the large anima golems, killed the massives, killed dark animus - win game.

You must have been in my raid. Nobody said anything about it so all the little adds spawned and got nuked to hell. Then the big adds spawned and 1/3rd of the raid died because they stood in those flames that follow a random person. Still 1 shot it though despite the hilariousness.

Might have been in my group as well. We 3 shot durumu (1st pull was because of trash) and 2nd wipe is because we were looking for 3 red adds. 1 shot primordius. And the we interrupted short range ritual lightning then the boss speared because of accidental AoE.

Boss doesnt go above 80 Anima in LFR and everyone in the group was doing 120k+ DPS. As for the Determination buff we only had 2stacks of it, as you only gain stacks if you actually get the boss to spawn currently (unless it has been hotfixed within the last 24hours).

we just kept grouping everything in the middle and nuking things, did it first time :P not sure on the tacts for it, just focussed boss when he showed up :S
