Last time I checked, pvp weapons has the same speed: 2.6s

Both weapon should have the same attackspeed, but if you want to increase your speed, you could always hit weapon enchant.
The cooldown on the spells you can use meanwhile, is fairly small with a little gap. So you should be able to keep busy.
