These aren't Victorian times. India is part of BRICS and looking for its own interests.Bangalore: Boosting their military ties, India on December 24 inked deals worth around $ 3 billion with Russia to procure 42 new Su-30 MKI combat aircraft and 71 Mi-17V5 medium-lift helicopters.
The contracts for acquiring these weapon systems were signed during the 13th India-Russia Annual Summit after talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin in New Delhi.
As for me. I don't want my taxes going for useless Bases, Nato missions and Trainings that just end up putting a huge bullseye mark on us. The kamikaze attack last year was one too many.
really?
todays special forces need to be more than rabid dogs which is exactly what spetsnaz are.
oh, and the DOD already announced it wasn't going to deploy the next stage of the missile defense in eastern Europe in favor of buffing our Asian defenses. Only problem is we didn't consult or even talk to the Russians about the decision so the kremlin isn't happy they didn't get a political victory and they lost another thing to bitch about.

At least 334 hostages were killed as a result of the crisis, including 186 children,[7][8] with a significant number of people injured and reported missing.
You are seriously praising them for killing 334 hostages? 186 of them were children for fucks sake.
For starters, China really isn't an ally to anyone. It has a few puppet-regime buddies in S. Asia, but beyond that everyone else is merely friends of convenience. It's "allies" with Russia because it's "enemies" with America. Russia is no different, it's friendly with who it needs to be but beyond that it's not really anyone's ally. The same can be said of America, I mean, who is America an ally of....that we couldn't really say is actually an ally of America? We like to think it goes both ways, but really the smaller European powers are allies of America. India is coming into it's own and while they are currently a sub-world power, they haven't begun to really extend that influence in the way China or Russia have. Again, India is "allies" with China and Russia for convenience, both are large, powerful nations that are right next door, it's beneficial to be friendly and do business with them. But they're not true allies.
The concept of India falling in line with Russia and China when the "going gets tough" stems from a classical Leninist ideology that India, given it's nature, size, and philosophical leanings, would adopt a Communist-style system, and thus the three great Communist powers would always align with each other. Problematically, this ideology put Russia at the top of the pile...not side-by-side as equals. When China favored Maoism and India took up Social Democracy like much of Europe, the possibility of it becoming a reality was basically killed, though the dream lives on populated by die-hard Communists.
There is no, and never will be any great "Russia-China-India" alliance. The Russians want to be in charge, the Chinese don't need them, and the Indians are too ideologically different to make it a reality. It simply won't happen.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.

It only took them 22 years. Should have just left them for a museum.
After all this time, they were still there? Hell, it's about time they left.
