Poll: What Class/Spec is hardest to defeat in duel as sub rogue

  1. #1

What Class/Spec is hardest to defeat in duel as sub rogue and why?

As tittle says What Class/Spec is hardest to defeat in duel as sub rogue and why? If you can write some tactics against each class/spec I would really appreciate that, I will only put dps classes/specs in poll.

Hunter. Deterrence+Stampede too strong and Vanish rarely works properly even if they don't have a Flare on you. Not to mention 1m BW and Readiness.

Everything else can be controlled to death.

Not sure if trolling, but BDKs are utterly countered by Rogues. You have Dismantle, Evasion, Prep of the former two, ST/DT kiting, and stuns to counter DS healing. You have Garrote to prevent IBF during stuns and Lichborne DC healing. They still have a lot of healing you can't counter, but you can kite and control them into oblivion while they barely scrape you.

    Well it's the only thing I can't kill 1v1.

You should be able to beat hunters. The trick is to save dance for after their first deterrence. They can still readiness & use a second deterrence, but once that happens you've all but beat them because they have no escapes other than disengage (which is easily countered with a shadowstep). Also you can vanish their stampede (if they even use it... most hunters don't use it in duels, it's just bad taste) and wait for the pets to despawn. Flare has a very slow travel time, so as long as you don't vanish right next to the hunter you should be able to avoid flare if you hit sprint at the same time as your vanish. If they do manage to get away from you at any point in time, you can buy time with smoke bomb and hit them with shurikens.

I'll admit that hunters are the best equipped of any class to handle rogues, but if a rogue makes no mistakes he will win. You might still lose some duels to lucky flares and such, but you should be like a casino to a hunter: the more he plays against you, the more he's gonna lose.

It seems that I have a lot of problems with retri pala's and their heals, maybe I am doing something wrong, but with hunters they are the hardest thing for me, is there any advice or some great tact against them and their gay bubble ? ( Sorry for bad english )

    Mage. Frost Mage.

Year after year, Mages are still the hardest opponent for Rogues. They have so much CC, so much slow, so much get away, there is just no way. Especially after the nerfed cloak of shadows (it is no longer part of prep).

But prep-ing in duel is lame as possible. Mages always were the greatest challenge for a rogue in duel, but they are now a complete joke with ST and DT.

Gay bubble? You mean deterrence? Gouge their pet and stay close so you can snare him as soon as it ends. Or you can vanish then re-open once it wears off (recommended if it's their 2nd deterrence).

Maybe in cata, but i'm finding in this patch shrukien is so good that it beats down a mage's ice barrier before you ever get to them and provides a considerable ammount of constant damage, not to mention letting you pool cps. If you ever get ice nova'd, a situation that before would be followed with a deep freeze>shatter, you can simply bomb and spam shrukien, doing so much damage during that you actually force the mage defensive even though he initially had the upper hand.

Maybe I've been dueling a lot of bad mages, but my rogue (full honor malev 1p deadly 2 pve rings yet to replace) hasn't had much trouble at all.

This is running a hemo strat, but all the same... Shrukien toss. Love it, use it, win.
