    Aaaand suddenly...

Suddenly I've been experiencing connection problems with Facebook. What happens is that... it just won't load. I've resetted my router twice, tried to use a proxy, nothing works. Everything else works just fine. 80ms latency at WoW, Youtube video streaming is okay, and all others sites I've tried to browse were working as intented... Any ideas? Anyone else having similar problems? (Neither computers nor any other device will work, have tried in an iTouch, an Android and one more PC)

Can't connect to Facebook? Sounds fantastic. Maybe someone finally took that trash to the dumpster. Not likely, but one can always hope. Try later. I'm sure it will be usable soon.

You created a thread because a webpage wouldn't load?...

The first thing I'd do is try connecting one computer straight to the modem, to rule out the router (or not)
    Gaming: Dual Intel Pentium III Coppermine @ 1400mhz + Blue Orb | Asus CUV266-D | GeForce 2 Ti + ZF700-Cu | 1024mb Crucial PC-133 | Whistler Build 2267
    Media: Dual Intel Drake Xeon @ 600mhz | Intel Marlinspike MS440GX | Matrox G440 | 1024mb Crucial PC-133 @ 166mhz | Windows 2000 Pro

Do a DNS cache flush and see if that helps.

Open a command prompt (with administrator rights) and type "ipconfig /flushdns".

    Sadly, this didn't help either.

This might be trivial at this point but what browser are you using and have you tried to use others?

Edit: To me it sounds like a cache or proxy related issue.

I am using Google Chrome, and have tried this on Safari (iTouch) and Internet Explorer 7... Both PCs I tried using are using Windows 7.

Try doing a traceroute to facebook.com

    using cmd:

    tracert facebook.com

if packet falls, tell us where so we can have an additional look at it

    Try the following:

Go into Settings and go to Advanced and click "Change Proxy settings". Under LAN settings, uncheck all options. This will result in you not using a Proxy to connect to the internet. This might be trivial, but try safe or incognito mode to bypass cache issues (ctrl+shift+n). It doesn't hurt to try at least.

Looks like your internet at this point. the -first- hop is 600ms.

Perhaps it has something to do with how your ISP is routing through to facebook? have you tried using Googles DNS servers?

Just did the same with mmo-champion (entered tracert mmo-champion.com) with the first hop being at 1k ms, so I don't think that might be the problem.

Yup, looks to be the issue. Your ISP routes you through a server that is down for now which causes a or several package losses and a lost connection to the Facebook server. A reroute is possible, but can sometimes be difficult. Try a with a DDNS or organic DNS.

Did you try to disable the use of proxies btw?
