Jaina and Saurfang. It would drive Thrall to heights of fury unseen since Taretha's death. It would also infuriate Wrynn. Saurfang dying to protect her to-no-avail would possibly make many Orcs that didnt question Garrosh do so.

But seriously where is Kilrogg's son Jorin in all of this though?

My best bets would be on Saurfang and Varian.
Saurfang becouse I can see him taking one on one with the former student.
Varian becouse he is an asshole and I can see Alduin taking the kings place and try to create peace with who ever will run the Horde after that.

I just hope that the intelligence trio Sully, Amber and Mishka (First Draenei doing stuff since BC! :P ) survive all this, they're cool characters, not very deep maybe, but fun as travelling questgivers.

If anything, i'd guess that Blizz will throw admiral Taylor under a bus (So to speak), her personality is a bit too extreme/fanatical (Dare i say "Garrosh-ish"?) to last much longer...

Imagine Malfurion trying to stop the fighting and trying to give a speech to Garrosh and then he appears to get it and Malfurion turns to preach at all the gathered Kor'kon and Horde and Alliance there... before Garrosh moves and he pushes his axe into his back, killing Malfurion under the eyes of everyone!
And Tyrande, devastated by this, decides to leave the Alliance, the night elves, and live as a hermit in exile for the rest of her life, and Shandris takes the reigns of the night elves! And Shandris is much more cunning, she's like a Sylvannas without the mass forsaken ressurection but with more cunningness and with no care for honor in combat but with great experience in laying traps.

I want to see Thrall die in an arena fight with Garrosh, and then Garrosh go berserk or something.

Why would Garrosh go berserk over it, if anything Thrall has been the one that kept trying to stop his orc supremacy dreams, by now I bet he believes that Thrall is the reason his father died at how desillusioned he's become.

Don't look so smug! I know what you're thinking, but death was only a setback.

Edit: I know, I know, it's old but it was too tempting.

I expect Saurfang to show up and barely die at Garrosh's hand, putting his legend to rest with an epic ending.

I hope Thrall will die, giving him an honorable death and putting his story to rest on a good note rather than a bad one. However, I fully expect him to become warchief again. I would be shocked (this is a good thing) if he didn't.

Either place would have limited communication obviously. Still when saurfang finds out he is going to be quite upset.

The reason I say this is in 5.3 what if he finally hears word that garrosh has gone over the edge? Naturally he would probably end up going straight up to his throne and pretty much say boy I'm disappointed. Here is where I think saurfang story comes to an end. Right now every race on the horde have gotten their why we are going to war reason some where in 5.3 but what if the catalysis for the Orc is seeing an old respected war hero did right in the middle of the valley of strength? Naturally he wouldn't be killed by garrosh alone but by human wave tactics of his bodyguard, naturally taking ou most of them but in he end he falls due to the sheer number of them.

The perfect end lore wise and game wise for a classic character. Lord wise he died a warriors death fighting the same thing that made him a hero in the first place thereby setting the catalysis for a majority of orcs to maybe this new horde thing is wrong. Gameplay wise is his story is over and hasn't been used in some time. Other than using saurfang for some random meme pandering let him go out like a champion
This is something i can see happening in 5.4, as the moment that immediately preceeds the SoO as a Horde PC.

Thrall, in chains, is escorted into the middle of Org, infront of the throneroom. A large crowd of mostly Orcish spectators gather. Thrall is led to Garrosh who is surrounded by Kor'Kron and Malkorok. Saurfang and Eitrigg are also present, but are.not allowed to remain as close to Garrosh.

Garrosh calls Thrall a traitor for helping the Darkspear and insults him. Thrall and Garrosh have some RP after which Garrosh says Thrall must be killed for treason. As he attempts to kill Thrall, Saurfang intervenes, taking hit and dying. The crowd watching riots, the player escapes to tell Vol'Jin, while Garrosh retreats to Grommash Hold and puts Org under full lockdown.

Good idea, but I'd much rather Saurfang show up to fight off practically all of Orgrimmar on his own to save Thrall, buying Thrall and you (the player character) time to get away. He'd die a warrior's death. Ideally, he'd wound Garrosh terribly, or Garrosh would run away and refuse to fight him, even in fear, shock, or surprise.

    Truesay.

Instead, Garrosh tries killing Thrall, then Saurfang gets pissed at this and attacks Kor'Kron, then theres a riot, during which the PC escapes and Saurfang is eventually killed.

Offtopicish, I'd like if they found a missing heir of Silvermoon. And honestly, we could use another female leader, but that's just my opinion. I don't want the royal Silvermoon line to end with Kael'thas. If they found an heir in the near future (ideally not this expansion), that would make things quite interesting and allow for things to stay exciting for the blood elves for a while.

As for this expansion, I'd very much like if our good friend Trade Prince Gallywix joins forces with Garrosh, is one of the bosses you fight, and when he loses he begs for your forgiveness and mercy (ideally, Thrall would be assisting in this battle for the irony). Thrall would allow him to live, but he would be stripped of status and money, we'd have a new Trade Prince (or if I had my way, Trade Princess, again I think we really need more (any) significant and strong female characters and female faction leaders in general) with Gallywix broke and practically begging in the slums, hopelessly conspiring to get back his fortune once more for the rest (or all of) Warcraft.

Another thing I'd like to see is the Horde being leaderless, a coalition of races for the time being, the exact opposite of what it used to be, with the Alliance ironically having a leader in general instead of being simply a coalition of leaders. If Thrall died, it would make this even more interesting.

Yeah, I don't get why this is so popular with people. What's their obsession with killing major characters?

The last time Blizzard did it, people weren't pleased. Grom Hellscream anyone? People wanted him back! And he returned, in the form of his son.
Illidan same story, heck Blizzard might just bring him back after all. They've hinted at it.

So what's the point of killing off characters when people just want them to return?

Cairne? Replaced by his son who is basically the same person. Do I need to go on?
Deathwing? Replaced by his son, who will probably become evil at some point.
The Lich King? Arthas got replaced by Bolvar.

The list goes on and on. So wanting a major character to die won't really mean a thing.

Yeah, and where is Thrall's second in command Nazgrel? He's been sitting around in Thrallmar for years now! Not exactly a good second in command when he's not even aware of anything that's happened the last years. Guess Blizzard forgot about him like they've done before with other characters?

Same as Rexxar. Heck, Rokhan has had more recent interaction as a character then old Rex.

She should have died at Theramore along with Rhonin. Would have been great if Blizzard had developed a story arc around Varian and Jaina which would then give Alliance a more plausible reason to act decisively to kill Garrosh instead of people coming up with the idea of the Alliance sitting back and watching the Horde tear itself apart.

They won't kill off Lor'themar as then they would have to come up with at least 2 new racial leaders.

I don't get it either. People wishing for lore characters to die, they don't seem to get how you don't have a story or good continuity if all you die is build up a character, kill him, and replace him with there next of kin. It never works out, it makes the characters development pointless, it shoehorns a character in we can't relate to like the one who died, despite them being placed in the exact same role, and it just convolutes the story.

Being honest here, if someone said to me 'would you accept allowing Garrosh to live if all other characters could live too, or we kill garrosh and kill a bunch of other lore characters with him', I would always go for option 1, because a story without developed characters has no story.

Wouldn't mind a 'couple' dying as long as it's done well.

Varian could die and lead way to Anduin leading the Alliance as a young king. It would be sort of symbolic because Varian has been much more level headed this expansion. Even though Anduin would have every reason (along with other alliance leaders) to decimate a crippled Horde after 5.4, Anduin would choose the higher road because his character is like that to begin with, but also to break the cycle of retaliation that the Horde/Alliance have traditionally done.

Lastly something has to kick the remaining Horde into gear. Which is either going to be something horrible happening to a well respected member of the Horde, or a death.
