Lightbulb Novice Disc Priest seeks advice

    Fellow Discs!

I am myself a healer since release of WoW. The first couple of years I was quite a legendary tremendous n00b. But over the years I grew up and found the fun in playing better and being above average.

    Expectations:
I never posted a "help/improve-me-thread", but now I think the time is here for that. The reason: I still want to improve myself and I think I still have a lot potential. On T14 my performance on WoL was around 90% (ranking info / % of limit). Yeah and I never managed to get a ranking. The thing is in T15 I am more around 70%. Also I want to add that I am the RL. Not only I am doing important announcements, I am also looking what people are doing/missing/not avoiding during the fight and try to fix that immediately with announcements/grips etc. So I think this costs me some performance, but I am quite fine with that - Because it helps the raid more.

We raid 8h a week and are currently at 8/12. T14 we were 6/16hc. We would to improve that performance a little in this tear. LIke 6/12hc would be awesome.

I am playing a balanced mastery/crit build. Over the last 3 weeks a run couple of test with different builds (regarding to stats) and this seems to be the optimal solution. Therefore please only consider the logs from this week, and not the previous ones:

My play style on the different bosses:
    • Jin'rokh: Dmg on boss, try to be as early as possible in the black oozes. SS the raid 10 sec before the transition phase. Use Barrier there. PW:S people who are follow by the frozen orbs.
    • Horridon: Simply do damage, keep PW:S on Horridon tank
    • Council: Quite low on this boss, that's fine cause I do a lot of announcements, dispels, blah.. so please don't tell me I suck on that boss, cause I already know
    • Tortos: SS - PW:S+PW:B - SS - PW:S - SS for the Quake stomps, otherwise try to dmg while boss has +dmg debuff
    • Megaera: Simply dmg, use Divine star, SS about 15% health life of one head, PW:S debuff victim
    • Ji-Kun: I completely messed up that fight, normally I do dmg here.

I am thankful for every hint and tip.
    Thanks!

    The title is kinda.. misleading?
Sounds like you're looking for a partner

One tip I find useful is Halo. I've always particularly liked that talent for Tortos. If timed right, you can hit everyone just as Quake Stomp goes out.

If you are finding that your heals are lacking, this could be a big cause. Every moment you are paying attention to where others are you are not paying attention to other players health bars. Ive healed on several toons, and it truly sucks if you are the one doing the announcements and such. Try finding someone to call out stuff and watch everything so you can have more focus on your healing.

Didnt go through all the logs, but checked your armory and spell usage (was viewing megaera, since it is healing intensive). You seem to cast pw:s quite alot, and high mastery is good for that.

Still I am playing quite the opposite. Casting pw:s mostly on tanks and on others when needed, but it isnt my first spell choice outside of rapture. I am relying alot on atonement so I am going full crit, and since 1% of crit requires so much more rating than 1% of mastery you might want to reforge some mastery to crit so they will be closer to each other.
