Good ear headphones (For ipad gift)

Hello, since I'm kinda clueless on what to buy when it comes to ear headphones (Small once, you know them - Not headset) I'm asking here.

My sister is getting an Ipad for birthday, and my and my brother are going to gift her some good sound. Range is 30-50$. Is this a good enough budget, or should we aim highere? She's mainly going to use the ear headphones for playing I guess, but honestly I don't know what Ipad is for...maybe stories can be heard on it!

Any help is preciated alot If speciel Ipad ear headphones exsist that would be cool - Preffer inn White or red colours.

Hm, a hole other question, especially if you have an Ipad you're self - Does the Ipad have some speciel cabel/stick requirement? Being an Apple product its maybe different than the good old jack stick?

I am so sorry, but I could not breath after reading this line...

I am not sure I understand what you mean. Are you talking about the headphone jack, or the power/data plug interface?

Apple loves proprietary, but I don't think the headphone jack is. Apple site says it's a standard 3.5mm (which is what the earbuds linked are.)

Headphone jack. Like I'm really clueless on anything Apple :P

But now I hear with buying an Ipad you get earphones with it, or is that only sometimes?

Trough I think my brother more wants to buy headphones so if anyone has some good suggestion's for that it would be great. I would like some smaller headphones, nothing to big.

Apple's jack is a TRRS. It works the same as anything else for just headphones, but needs to be ordered right if you want to use headphones with an integrated microphone.

I don't remember my iPad coming with headphones. iPod and iPhone does, but I do not think iPad does. Since you are talking about the headphones, yes any 1/8th inch or 3.5mm plug will fit and work.

Skullcandy Titans or Ink'd earbuds. Head over to Skullcandy.com and see what they have that's in your budget. I've got a pair of Titans for my iPod and I love them.

The recent headphones I've been using in taht range are Philips O'Neill specked and AKG Q350's.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/AKG-Q350-Qui...AKG+headphones

I'd highly recommend either. The AKG's are fantastic. They have a great response over a wide range of tones, they don't come off as too lacking nor heavy in any regard. The build quality is nothing short of superb.

Same goes with the Philips ones. The only gripe with them is that sound travels through the cord like a bitch. For example, I used my headphones whilst running and I'd be able to hear every little scrape whenever they brushed against my top. This is a problem I haven't had with the AKG's, and I presume this is down to the braided cord design on the Philips headphones.

If the AKG Q350's are too expensive, you'll usually be able to find some very good quality stuff at a lower price. I've been using AKG for years for headphones and microphones and they've never let me down. Their lower end stuff is fantastic value for money and their higher end stuff just screams quality.
