Fresh 90 Shaman, Go Enh or Ele?

What seems to be performing better (and also looking into 5.3 with the enh buffs under way), what should I be thinking about gearing for, Enhancement or Elemental? Playstyle isn't much of a factor worth worrying about. I was Enh all Cata and Ele all WOTLK.

Well if you go Ele you can queue as a healer for dungeons and raids, making your gearing quicker.
If you go enhance you will gear slower compared to Ele but you will be Enh superior race.

    Ranged or Melee. Choose one.

Elem is really easier to survive as as a FRESH lvl90 - ranged, easier aoe, lots of mana to heal yourself, you can even off heal.

However both specs are very very fun and i suggest you try em all - JUST GET THE DAMN HIT/EXP CAPS FIRST.

nobody here can tell you what YOU should play. Play what you like more.
Raining Pandarens because of the bouncy racial?

Personally I think that the elemental rotation is a little bit more intuitive.

for pure dps take a look at www.raidbots.com

But how did you reach lvl 90 without any spec :-D ?

pvp: oh wait nvm resto wasn't a choice

pve: ele is currently ahead of enhance but once 5.3 drops enhance will beat ele in single target dps (aka what ppl look at usually). Ele is one of the top AE dmg dealers but suffers on single target fights
