Eh, the other issue is half the stuff in the law the school was already allowed to do, depending on context. The schoolboard just banned it because they were petrified of a lawsuit that likely never would have materialized if they weren't stupid. Originally Posted by Black Pearl

It is a law saying that schools are allowed to put up Christmas displays and such in response to a school board somewhere having a "winter festival" and not allowing anything remotely related to Christmas in, including the colors red and green. Originally Posted by Black Pearl
None of which the school could have been sued for in the first place, but now Texas has to "preserve our freedom" to do everything we could do before, plus put non-educational nativity scenes up on school property.
