Lore Proposal: Grey Order and Minotaur

The general focus is on the Grey Order and Minotaur uniting to make a new nation. The hope is that they overcome their internal conflict and eventually become the first major backers of Kassadin and his anti-void forces, while Malzahar and his cultists wake up a lot of nasties from the Voodoo lands which go on a rampage to the west, while preparing to summon more void-creatures.

I'm not going to lie, game mechanics are not my strong suit so the 'combat style' bits are likely not even remotely viable but I wanted to include them anyway just to sort of give my impressions of the champs a bit more detail.

    Background

Prior to the creation of the League, a group of Noxian intelligentsia left the city state because they disagreed with the direction of Noxus's high command, since then they have researched dark arcane knowledge from their colony along the border of the Voodoo Lands, and even produced the powerful young champion Annie the Dark Child.

Recently, Alistar, leader of the Minotaur that call the great barrier home, has secured an alliance between the tribes under his command and the Grey Order's leaders. Their knowledge of dark magic now helps to protect the minotaur from their Noxian enemies, while the Minotaur's physical prowess has served to make life the unforgiving landscape more bearable, and also deterred potential attacks by Noxus's new leader, Jericho Swain.

A new city has been hewn into the mountains of the Great Barrier bordering the Tempest Flats which the minotaur and grey magi have made the capital of their new society, and from it the minotaur have spread throughout the Grey Order colonies. Though a number of the minotaur are uneasy with the dark magic and noxian heritage of their new allies, they are also glad to be out of hiding.

Surprisingly, it seems that the first test of the new nation may come not from Noxus, but from the Voodoo lands the magi had dwelled near, in recent days powerful magic seeping from dark rituals in the once lost kingdom of Icathia has affected the Voodoo lands, and awoken all manner of horrors from the ancient Rune wars, and now, attracted by the Grey Order's magic, they are slowly making their way into the flats.

New Champions 'Grey Order + Minotaur:

Gregori Hastur, the Grey Warlock and his wife Amoline, the Shadow Witch:
Lore: Gregori and Amoline were always the odd ones out back in their Noxian magical academies, constantly questioning the hyperaggression exhibited by High Command. In fact the two first met and fell in love while being held by the Noxian authorities for their 'weak' beliefs, and earned their freedom by exhibiting their combined magical research. As time passed however, the two grew exasperated with the Noxian status quo, particularly after the invasion of Ionia, and led a group of likeminded outcasts known as the Grey Order out of the city state and into the edge of the Voodoo lands to study dark arcane secrets.

Content up until now to keep to their research while their daughter Annie 'played' upon the fields of justice, Gregori and Amoline have taken to the battlefield to defend their home against the dangers pouring out of the Voodoo lands, ever confident that if their individual skill in the mystic arts can't lead them to triumph over any obstacle, their unity can.

Combat style: Gregori and Amoline are constantly dancing while in combat, and their abilities change depending on which of them is leading. Gregori has abilities more oriented towards defense and support while Amoline is focused around damage.

    Ayelia the Heartmender:
Lore: Ayelia was a Noxian servant girl that attended to fighters in the horrific "Fleshing" gladiator pits, Ayelia tended to Alistar while he was captive there and eventually aided in his escape. Since then she and many other servants from the Fleshing have sought to put their lives of pain and horror behind them and make a new start amidst the Grey Order. Leading the exodus from Noxus and across the harsh mountains to the Grey order Ayelia and her companions came across all manner of beast, brigand, and monster. Working to protect her fellow travelers, Ayelia honed her minor knowledge of healing to tend to her injured comrades and frequently bolstered the morale of the group while fending off their attackers. Now armed with access to the Grey Order's archives and reunited with Alistar, Ayelia is ready to defend her new home and build a new nation out of the harsh dust, and will let nothing threaten her new home.

Combat style: Ayelia mingles healing magic with crowd control spells. The more she has healed, the more damage her typically low-power spells do in addition to their other effects. The idea behind her design is that while she doesn't want to hurt others, she returns more damage the more harms been done to her or her team.

    Magrul the Earthspeaker:
Lore: Not all Minotaur are happy with Alistar's choice to ally them with former Noxians, Magrul remembers the horrors Noxus has visited upon not just his people, but the land itself in its many years of destruction and conquest. When the proposal was first made, the Magrul was vehemently against the partnership with the Grey Order, especially after learning that servants from the Fleshing had come to the nation as well. Unconvinced of the good will of the former-Noxians, concerned that the Minotaur might lose their own culture if they lived alongside the magi and greatly suspicious of the Grey Order's dark research Magrul threatened to split the Minotaur and lead a group away from Alistar's command as a result of this mistrust, yet only a few days before he intended to depart with a group of likeminded minotaur, reports came of the settlements along the border, supposedly well accustomed to the horrors of the voodoo lands, being overwhelmed by strange and powerful creatures. Minotaur and magi alike crushed by their overwhelming foes.

Magrul hates the once Noxian citizens that make up the Grey Order the dark magics they wield, and feels Alistar is making a mistake by trusting them, but his devotion to the wellbeing of his people will not allow him to depart until the evils that threaten them are once again imprisoned beneath the earth. Only time will tell whether Magrul's suspicion is well founded, or if Alistar and the magi can prove to him that the Grey Order are trustworthy allies.

Combat style: Magrul carries a large ritual hammer and can be run as AD or AP, with a kit largely consisting of earth based damage attacks which have secondary effects such as slows for the enemy and shields for himself based on how much damage was done.

    New Champs Evil Relics:

    Xelel the Mage Slayer:
Lore: Centuries ago, southern Valoran was host to vicious and terrible wars that scarred the land for centuries to come. Not all of the remnants of these wars were as subtle as the magical taint that saturated much of the land though, many regions are littered with the rusted and crumbling remnants of powerful magical devices and the bones of horrific miscreations. Xelel is one such entity that, after years of dormancy, has been reawakened by the void-taint seeping from Icathia. A towering construct of living purple and black glass, Xlel has risen out of the barren Voodoo lands and sensed the magics emanating from both the Grey Order's research, and the rituals in Icathia that awakened it.

Xelel, having been created in Icathia centuries ago to pave the way for the rituals that would allow the eldritch horrors of the void into Valoran, is overjoyed that it will have another chance at fulfilling its purpose after falling in battle so long ago. Now Xelel leads masses of lesser anomalies and decrepit wargolems out of the Voodoo lands, and has set out to both strengthen itself and weaken opposition to the void by devouring the magics of the Grey Order and slaughtering the Minotaur of the Tempest flats.

Combat style: Xelel, as its name implies, is a caster killer, it soaks up magic-attacks to make itself stronger making it a potential tank as well, it has relatively low damage but very good sustain.

    Tyranis the Last Manticore
Lore: In Valoran's Runewars undead soldiers, twisted spellcasters and merciless golems were not the only forces sent forth, some of the most horrifying were creatures of flesh, created through terrible magics and barely controlled by their creators. The Manticore were a particularly famous breed of warbeast, endowed with frightening intelligence, enormous leonine bodies, and deadly venom, they cut through swathes of footsoldiers throughout the wars. Tyranis was the greatest of the Manticore, vicious and nearly immortal he crushed legions of soldiers and devoured other constructs and creations during the wars, until in the midst of a battle, a powerful magical storm emanated from the neighboring Shurima region, and caused the entire landscape around him to collapse, sealing him under the Voodoo lands for years until the twisted rituals of Icathia bathed the area in unnatural energies and revitalized him.

Rejuvenated, Tyranis awoke hungry, and with his creators long dead, unfettered by any restraints. Since his awakening the massive beast has developed a taste for Minotaur flesh and has begun raiding the settlements upon the Tempest flats building up its strength while it prepares to explore the rest of the new world it has emerged into, and discover what became of the rest of its kin after the rune wars, knowledge which may reside in the Grey Order's archives...

Combat style: Vaguely similar to playing cat-form nidalee but with less of an emphasis on stealth or evasion and more on speed and sustain, Tyranis begins the match looking unhealthy and partially skeletal, but grows stronger as he kills and levels up (having a watered down version of cho's "feast" as a passive).

People are lazy to reply there, even to great ideas, sadly. So I think it's a smart choice to post here and on the League forums, here people are more likely to reply. (well not really but more likely here than on LoL forums)

OT: I don't have time to read on too much, but it seems like an okay idea BUT I honestly doubt Riot will ever implement anything fully as it is being suggested, perhaps take a small thing or two, if anything at all. Save yourself atleast a bit of time and make the idea smaller and simpler, and if you enjoy writing ...write a book! Like me
