    Durumu and Life Drain

Hey, we did yesterday our first tries on Durumu. 20 Wipes...yes. I really like the boss fight, especially the maze part. A lot went actually quiet nice. We had a lot of wipes tho around 10% hp cause the hungry exe casted the life drain on the tank (we go 1 tank pala). Well then he instatntly died or others got killed cause he lost aggro due to the stun. Is it just rng here? Or a very fast swap needed? Little annoying cause the other parts of the fight we handled well. Thx

We killed Durumu last night as well, in total of 14 pulls (last one being kill) and both tank got stunned as well, but mainly for us this happened when a DPS/healer was standing behind the tank. As they were targeted by the eye (not the tank), but since the tank was between the beam and the targeted player the tank got stunned.

I don't recall any of the tanks being the primary target of the beam (sure, we were targeted by the pools once in a while).

It should be fine as long as someone a) steps in front of the tank and frees them from stun b) the other tank taunts the boss for a sec or two to give to "free" the tank (the last one could be bit tricky (due to the application and the amount of debuffs on the tank who is not suppose to tank)). Only bad bit is when the knockback wave lands on a stunned tank or boss happens to get a full damage melee hit in. You tank who is stunned, has to call it out ASAP if they are stunned.

The tanks should never take the life drain, they dont lose aggro due to it but the damage coming in will just be more painfull then needed together with the boss.

The life drain itself works a bit like when the adds spawn - you will be able to see who gets the life drain a few seconds ahead since the beam apears for 1-2 seconds as the markers for the adds does. Make sure to then move away from the tanks or vice versa.

We had an issue once or twice with our tank eating a life drain too. To avoid it, have your tanks stand well away from the boss. His hit box is massive (pretty sure it's about half the width of the room) compared to his model so there's no need to be right under his face. The farther back tanks stand, the easier it will be to have someone move closer and soak the drain.

That asside, tanks should try to avoid taking drain at all, since that coupled with the arterial cut and reduced healing debuffs makes it extremely hard to keep them alive if they do get hit, particularly in your case since you're single tanking.

Personally, I'd go 2-tanks on this fight. You'll remove the risk of getting screwed by life drain as well as make the healers jobs a bit easier. The dps check on this fight is not very tight. It's much more of a mechanic fight than a numbers fight.
