Iron Qon HM 10 - Two Tanking

Just a quick question as we will begin working on Iron Qon tonight.

We have a Warrior and a DK Tank and only one Pally in the raid. Is this fight as easy as claimed with two tanks or is the consideration of it being easy based upon the one tank strategy? I read a detailed post about a Warrior that one tanked the fight with one Pally in the raid.

Just looking for a few tips or insight into two tanking the fight. The majority of the logs I see are all one tanked with a Pally obviously except I did find one with a Blood DK one tanking as well but they had two pallys in the raid.

I'd prefer to one tank it if possible to be honest but we do not have another Pally to bring in currently and our Tank is not a Dwarf.

you can 1 tank with a double BOP. just have to play good and hold your first BOP till the first windstorm. So the tank will take like 7 stacks if your fast 8 if your slow. Then bop again at 28% on last dog. then bop again at like 6-7 stacks once the first BOP cd comes off.

Or you can two tank it as well with no issues.

If either tank happens to be a dwarf remember stone form works too.

You can easily two tank though. One tanking just means it's really easy to push only 1 windstorm.

It's quite easy to push with only 1 windstorm by 2 tanking also. We have around 518 ilvl and 2 dps meta gems and pushed with only 1 storm (quite close but still).

We 2 tanked it and our first kill had 2 Wind Storms. It still wasn't a difficult fight.

if you dont have enuff dps to 2 tank it with 1 windstorm then ur raid seriously sucks.... theres not much damage goin out during that phase tho, so our disc priest and druid healer (HOTW) normally dps here for extra damage... any healer could put in a bit of dps tho if ur not makin the target easily enuf.

solo tanking with a paladin does make the fight a lot easier, but 2 tank is still easy enuff

Unless you have a Prot paladin you're really not getting much out of attempting to one tank, with the Prot you rarely go above normal stacks, resetting at 3 stacks as opposed to 2. While running 1 tank while solely reliant on BoPs you'll be seeing as mentioned, as high as 8. That's monstrous damage that will only hurt your attempts unless you need the extra damage.

We solo tank this with a brewmaster and the damage is hardly 'monstrous' as you call it, quite the opposite in fact.. even at 8 stacks it feels like nothing and whilst solo tanking our brewmaster does upwards of 150-180k dps which is pretty insane for a tank.

Considering we just killed Ji-Kun HC, should we go for Iron Qon over Tortos/Horridon? Our raid setup includes a prot paladin and a holy paladin so resetting the stacks should not be an issue...

Pretty easy, even w/o lock portal.

Our Bear tank (who has sat out for our first 2 kills) wanted shoulders tonight so he came in. Our Prot pally wanted as much vengeance as possible, so our druid just ended up DPSing in bear form the whole fight (no kitty spec). So technically we 2 tanked...

yes. berserk timer is really generous.
our first kill we had 1 dps dead after the first windstorm (so ~66% of the fight)

Its probably not unheard of, but you're adding difficulty and gaining almost no benefit. Healing p1 and p4 damage are the only real challenges of the fight.
