I'm looking for a mmo that's free and that's fun to play with friends, some have suggested lotro or age of conan but I don't find them really amusing, can you give me your opinion?

If planes don't interest you in the slightest, then stay away. But if aerial combat using WW2 era planes sounds like something you might be slightly interested in, I guarantee once you get playing you will love it, especially with friends.

I think you're requesting something more along the lines of a fantasy RPG, which I love those too, but nothing has had more attention more than War Thunder over the past few months. I absolutely LOVE it.
