They look hideous and scream NERD.
No thanks.
im as ready as i can be to not give a F about it ^^
Not looking forward to this. Just what the world needs more distracted moronic zombies walking around not paying attention to anything and annoying the crap out of everyone else.
Then what are the major advantages that overshadow in your opinion the minor problems ... problems like your gf that will ask you not to wear the glasses at home where she is not always properly dressed, in school teacher will ask you to put them down and pay attention, in any sort of test you will be asked to take them off, maybe you won't be able to drive with them once a few ppl cause accidents while tweeting with their glasses, in movie theatres, in bars, any place that prohibits making photos ...
Not to mention they are pretty fugly in this form. All these minor downsides add up, so there must be a big upside to all those minor down sides and I think there is. But more in the field of ppl using them while working.
My part in this story has been decided. And I will play it well.

So I can definitely see the potential problems.

"In life, I was raised to hate the undead. Trained to destroy them. When I became Forsaken, I hated myself most of all. But now I see it is the Alliance that fosters this malice. The human kingdoms shun their former brothers and sisters because we remind them what's lurking beneath the facade of flesh. It's time to end their cycle of hatred. The Alliance deserves to fall." - Lilian Voss
Its pretty sweet, but the current design is a bit too bulky and noticeable. I'll have to see what they look like when the consumer version comes out, but I'm probably going to wait until a more streamlined and sexy looking version comes out.
Um you're on a MMORPG/video game forum pretty sure that screams nerd even louder. Plus whats wrong with being a nerd?

Yes definitely this also. This Google Glass interests me but I can already see more people walking into things because they weren't paying attention to what's in front of them. I can already see videos on youtube of people smacking their heads against a sign or walking into something while wearing these things.

As an EMS worker, I can't wait for all of the accidents this will cause. People using shit like this while also doing something that can lead to injuries(car accidents will probably be the most common with this) is what keeps me in business.
Wonder if you can actually get your Google Glass with lens that help you see like normal glasses.
If they can integrate it into prescription lenses, sounds great.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.
I admit I am somewhat excited by Google Glass. I don't think it will revolutionize my life in any way, but at least initially it will be like a very convenient camcorder you can use for things where it might be useful to take video, but too incovenient to do so.
For example, I would love to take more videos of playing with my kitten while he still is a kitten, but it's a PITA to use a camcorder while trying to do it. Setting it off to the side for a wideshot isn't the same. Or something as mundane as gardening. Think about being able to record when you plant a shrub, having it die, then bringing the video to an expert to figure out what you may have done wrong in the planting process. Using a regular camcorder is too inconvenient for the unlikely usage you might get from it from situations like that.
Or think about learning a musical instrument. You could use the glasses to stream the video or else just send a video recording to an instructor who could then give you feedback over social media, e-mail, etc. Far more convenient than having to set up strict scheduled times for lessons. And also easier and better than using a regular camcorder or even a webcam (since a webcam would be hard to aim properly. You need a headcam of some sort).
I'd use it for hiking, biking, boating.
For more social situations it will be awkward though, no doubt about it.
Well people looked crazy with gigantic cellphones too decades ago. Now you're a freak of nature if you don't own a cell phone.
To some point, this will be the same. Though probably not as big as cellphones.
