DPS Shaman and heroic progression? Help!

I am an Enhancement shaman by trade and in all honesty I pretty much despise Elemental. But as my guild has been working on heroic progression I am being forced to play it more and more. We are current 2/13 with Jin'rohk and Ji'kun down. I understand that Elemental helped a lot on Ji'kun but am wondering what other fights it will make a huge difference on?

We've been working on Horridon (struggling) and I recently was asked to go Elemental for it to cleave better. We are considering working on Tortos next. What spec would excel on him? If I do play elemental what is my priority on him, bats or turtles?

Are there any other bosses I can expect will require me as elemental?

Any feed back would be great.

Using raidbots, you can look what the average DPS for all parses is for each spec. On Tortos for example, Enhancement on average, has been beating Elemental by about 45k DPS on average. If you go to this link http://www.raidbots.com/dpsbot/Overa...10000000000000 You can select each fight on the right hand side comparing the 2 specs on each encounter. Note it is only an average.

Thats pretty interesting. I've used comparebots to see myself vs other people but didn't realize I could do that as well.

What makes Durumu different? I tear him up as Enhance on normal.

Walls with ele CL as hell, basicly Enh is single target spec , on all single target fight or fight where burst is needet Enh shine , on AoE Ele is much more better

The problem here is that ranged focus on turtles, whereas melee get to hit the boss (with the 50% damage increase).

I would argue that pending the # of ranged you have, ele is the superior choice. Another ranged for turtles and a superior AoE for bats. This fight is primarily about control so the more control you get via keeping turtles and bats dead, the faster you kill the boss (even if that means doing lower overall dps as ele).

exactly it's only assignments that elemental are put on turtles because melee cannot dps them.

elemental could just faceroll like an enha shaman at tortos and will totally piss all over enhancement spamming cl on the bats pulling 300k+ dps easymode, sadly this doesn't get the boss killed.

    Our group consists of:
    Prot Paladin
    Guardian Druid
    Holy Paladin
    Disc Priest
    Hunter
    Balance Druid
    Shadow Priest
    Affliction Lock
Myself (usually enhance, mediocre at elemental)

So we have a good number of ranged...

Does that comp have 10% AP? Might also be missing some debuffs considering how catered to ranged that comp is. However, if you can do better as enh as a player that is one comp where you should consider it.

We have all buffs and debuffs covered usually. Hunter picks up the slack lol. And yes I am WORLDS better at Enhancement than I am Elemental.
