I know there will be at least 1 less subscriber as I've handed mine in 2 weeks, the game have undergone changes towards causality and children to such a degree that it's beyond the famous "evolving".
Anyone who started playing from day one will know what I am talking about

A company that wants to pride itself on delivering class A products, should at bare minimum work for having a thriving community, with all their aforementioned changes they are going in the completely opposite direction.
The most funny thing of it all is, subs have gone down as have the game play, and community since they started implementing all these "quality of life" and "catch-up" mechanics just to ensure everyone was the same.

The "legacy" if you will that I will be remembering blizzard for when it comes to WoW, is the hack and slash job they managed to pull off.

The normal mode content is quite challenging, and the heroic raid content is some of the hardest it's ever been. Is this not enough for you? What more do you need to be satisfied?

Let's be honest here. There's the crazies on both sides. There's the fanboys that say nothing bad is Blizz's fault. There's the haters that say nothing good is because of Blizz.

If you dislike where WoW is headed in your mind, quit. Really. Sitting around complaining about "promises" that may or may not have been made isn't doing anything to help your cause. It's just making you look more and more like the constantly complaining and perpetually offended.

if income goes down you'll trumpet it as 'I was right, see, now maybe they'll fire GC and do it my way.

if sub numbers go down, you'll herald it as if income went down.
if sub numbers go up you'll accuse them of fabricating the numbers.

furthermore, if income ranges from flat to an increase I'll be pleased.

    There... those are my predictions.
That is a lot of assumptions.

If income goes up then either sub numbers will have gone up, they are making more money from their existing customers (from value added services, box sales, etc) or a combination of both.

I have never asked for Ghostcrawler to fired nor do I think he should be.

If sub numbers down it likely that income will also go down.

If they go up they go up, I have never once accused them of fabricating the numbers and quite frankly that is a ridiculous claim.

So nothing about the sub numbers, then? And four out of five of your predictions are personal attacks... brilliant.

I predict a gain or loss that makes people overreact about the state of the game, even though it makes little to no difference really.

If subs or income go I wont be one of those that says the game is great/fill in your own adjective... I'll just say that the actual numbers don't match the predictions and I'll leave it at that... and then I'll call my broker and ask how much we've made.

Well-said, friend. I think this is pretty much spot-on, given the trends around here.

trying to invent numbers has never been my forte'... I'll leave that to the doomsayers... Like I said, dont like what I have to say, dont read it. You encourage confrontation. Dont want to be confronted, perhaps you should reconsider what you are saying that you are being confronted on.

Whilst you might not be able to accurately predict the actual sub numbers surely you must have an idea if they have increased, decreased or remained stable? I would have thought that being an investor, which I think you might have mentioned in passing, that you would be interested in the sub numbers as they account for largest part of WOW's income and in turn a large part of ATVI's income and thus their profitability.

There are many titles in ATVI/Blizzard's Portfolio... outside of MMOs. Go see Skylanders and Call of Duty.

COD 4 sold less copies than COD 3, COD Elite subscription alienated a lot of DLC customers to such a point that they now offer all Elite services for free. Skylanders is absolutely fantastic but like all products aimed that age range runs the risk of losing popularity over night to their credit ATVI are doing an amazing job of maximising their income from it.

Now, lets see what the investor call has to say...

Subs down, revenue up. That's what it's been since the start of Cata.

The sub numbers has to go down! I refuse to believe that pandas and teddy bears hasn't impacted the subs in a negative way.

The game is freaking 8 years old already.

This is going to be really interesting.

It's my understanding that the international release of Age of Wushu was on April 10. But the release in Asia was much much earlier than that in late 2012.

What excuse? The fact that something is old can mean that it gets boring for some people. I played WoW a lot but after spending so much time with it I got bored at some point. So yes. Game is old > Game gets boring > Time to quit. All those revamps and additions dont change the fact that I am still playing the same game. Playing it more or less feels same since 2004. I have no quarrel with WoW. I played it a lot and it was AMAZING. But for me it is time to move on to something else. If someone is still not bored and wants to play more, good for him and for Blizzard.

Something outside the realm of different colours as "difficulty" increases? (Something where the only option to look different isn't doing decades old content)
----||---- where everything isn't the same just different "difficulty"?
These are merely two things out of a list so long I could fill 3 pages easily (exaggerated slightly)

Equally important though, a company that isn't catering the lowest nominator at every single turn and then strawmaning that there's more content then ever before, which essentially is true if you included the "options" provided by LF tools (same content, same child-mentality players, different "difficulties"), old raids for transmog (Wupti fucking dooo, lets included the barber shops as content)

Dailies replacing class specific quests / profession quests / attunements replaced by the most sickening system in the form of ilvl (Remember blizzards statement about them not liking Gs?, same shit different tag - Que lfr / normal / heroic in all "content", now also "featuring" scenario's LOL)

Most important though, if they want to gain subs (or keep it level) they should stop implementing features that erode the social connection to everything in the game, all games that focuses entirely on main streaming with no accountability such as WoW amongst other games become toxic, it's not the players per say that make it this way, it's the way the game is being structured, yet blizzard have for years tried to wash their hands of their own decisions.

Even if they reverted everything back where people were held accountable for their attitude / behaviour / play-styles etc etc etc, I wouldn't touch a blizzard product again.., if anything they've made it all to clear that they care little for the health of their community through their decisions / actions, despite claiming otherwise.

As far as predictions go on the outdated Q1 sub-numbers; Down by 780,000
I'll add another 1.2 million lost from Q2 due to the basic nature of "content" in the game now, totalling 1.98 million lost after 2 quarters

People quit games period. One of the main issues with wow it does not seem to be attracting new players to replace the ones that quit fast enough
