    Meadow. Do I win something?

Reasoning, a river is a contained yet visually distinct body of water. Tree's are especially distinct as they usually ring a meadow.

A river is specifically a moving body of water. Therefore, I'd suggest a lumber mill. It is, in essence, a body of trees perpetually in motion. Like a river.

Beat me to it, though I was going to say an Ent on fire, since a river is running water, and Ents don't usually run.

Water is to River as Tree is to Mountain.

    Water goes down the river
Tree (if it falls) goes down the mountain, crushing villages in its path, depending on its size.

We both think inside the same box. This was literally what I wanted to say before I read your post.
