    Illidan comes from... Pandaria?

I was just playing Warcraft III when I've noticed that weapons held by Illidan are a bit weird:

Does it mean that Illidan comes from... Pandaria?!

His stuff including a warglaive and a skull can be found in a cave off of jade forest at the far most south. In all seriousness nope just an easter egg.

Nopes, that's Samwise's signature. Or well, he has been known to hide panda faces in some of he's art.
That's all there is to it.

Realistically, they never had pandas on them. It was just a little slip in from Samwise.

When Azzinoth first got his warglaives, he was just a wee demon. As all wee children tend to do, he put a sticker on his war glaive of his favorite critter found on some far flung planet, which resembles a panda.

The panda sticker, being a demonically magical sticker, resisted all elements and weathering for centuries, perhaps longer, until Illidan defeated Azzinoth and took the panda emblazoned weapon for himself, thinking "How adorable. It's an ironic weapon, to kill with such cuteness. I shall claim these for my own!" The demon magic of the sticker made it shrink down to Illidan's size.

Source: I made it up. Yep.

The reason is there was originally 3 pronged Sanskrit looking symbol that vaguely resembled a swastika on his blades, so Samwise, creator of Pandaren and arguably most of Warcraft's entire visual style, changed them to his secret panda faces.

    That's all.

Maybe the demon Illidan took them from really liked pandas....or maybe it's just an Easter egg.

Illidan I'm quite sure was born and raised in a town / village called Suramar, lorewise - which was close to the capital Zin-Azshari.

This is, as others have said, probably just a Didier easter egg.
